Perfectly located for numerous walks around Derwent water and up to Catbells. A short walk to Keswick which is well serviced with pubs, restaurants and walking shops. The property has everything you need for a weeks stay. The welcome pack of granary rolls, local biscuits and a bottle of fresh milk in the fridge was lovely. Another nice touch were Read morethe towels outside to deal with wet dogs after they had been swimming in the river. The icing on the cake was the cafe/restaurant next door where we popped in for breakfast before heading out for our walks Hide

We loved our stay at Braeside Cottage. It was very spacious (moreso than we expected from the photos) and had everything we needed for our stay. Portinscale is a lovely little village (we enjoyed visiting the adjoining Chalet tearoom) and could easily walk into Keswick and down to Derwent Water. Also visited Whinlatter Forest (only a short drive awRead moreay). We'll hopefully be returning to Braeside in the future and would definitely recommend it to others. Hide

Spacious cottage with good facilities, convenient parking and easy walking access to Keswick, and also on the Derwent Water walking route. We have now stayed there 4 times in the last 6 years, so we obviously like it.
