Whinlatter Forest Park is 19 miles away, which has purpose-built cycling trails, as well as scenic walking routes. A useful porch area has plenty of room for bags and boots, before you head through into the living room. The king-size bedroom is situated on the ground floor, which has a beautiful en-suite with bath and shower attachment. Further down the hallway is a utility room with washing machine, Belfast sink and a door leading out to the side of the house. Next door to this is a wet room with shower and WC, ideal for less able guests. Upstairs is the twin bedroom, and a separate family bathroom with a second bath and shower attachment. Take in the views across to the fields, fells and woodland from the upstairs windows.

Outside the front door, is a lovely courtyard garden. It is fully enclosed and has pretty plants and climbers filling the area. There is garden furniture situated on a cobbled patio space for you to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as the sun sets. The cottage was very clean and comfy. There was everything provided that made it a good holiday. The location was really good for us and just a short walk to the nearest pub. We were sorry our week came to an end and we hope to go back very soon.

Our second visit and still one of our very favorite cottages. The cottage is beautifully presented in a wonderful setting of the old rectory. It is always warm and the fire (and free logs) are wonderful. It is very clean and had everything we needed. From the map it looks slightly remote but for accessing the northern lakes nothing is too far away.

Very nice cottage adjoining the hosts home, clean and comfortable with on site parking which is very useful as the village becomes busy with visitors.

The property was well presented, and all the reviews and pictures were a true representation of the cottage. We left it how we found it and Ann thanked us very much.
