Historians will love exploring the rooms at Dalemain, an impressive stately home 8.5 miles away, whilst the gothic ruins of Lowther Castle, 12 miles away, are well worth a visit. Rhegad, 5 miles away, has independent shops, cafés, an exhibition centre and a large 3D cinema which is great wet-weather entertainment. For some retail therapy, head to Penrith, 10 miles away and find supermarkets, independent retailers, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
