The bustling market town of Keswick offers a great base to explore the North Lakes with plenty on offer all year round. With a wide selection of independent shops and restaurants, as well as activities such as miniature golf, the Theatre by the Lake, a cinema, the Pencil Museum, climbing walls and great mountain biking opportunities at Whinlatter Forest (5 miles). Beautiful lake Derwentwater sits at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley and is only 500 meters from your front door. Crow Park (0.6 miles) is well worth a visit, with 360-degree views of the mountains along with stunning views down the lake towards the exceptionally beautiful valley. Walkers can enjoy a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, this area has something for all abilities. Why not take a boat on Derwentwater there are eight jetties where you can hop on and off to explore.

This spacious cottage sits tucked away just off the main high street, access to the entrance is up eight steps onto the patio. Enter through the front door you will find a spacious bright and welcoming lounge to your right. The room has lots of character and charm and has attractive wood and slate flooring through into the open plan kitchen which sits to the back of the room. This ground floor space offers a great place to catch up and make plans for the days ahead, sit down over a hearty breakfast or a nice evening meal and catch up on the days events! The galley style kitchen is well equipped and has a lovely opening across to the dining area. Head up to the first floor and you will find two bedrooms both of which are decorated to a high standard in a contemporary boutique style. The twin bedroom to the front of the property offers views of Keswick town and the master bedroom is to the rear of the property. There is a family bathroom along the landing with walk in shower and WC.

Head outside from either the kitchen or front door and you will find bike storage to the rear of the house for up to two bikes. The cottage takes its name from the raised front garden patio, which is the perfect spot to sit back, relax and people watch, taking in the everyday life in the centre of this historical Lake District town. There is a pretty walled patio to the front of the house which can be a real sun trap! There is no parking available at this property. Parking is in the nearby local car park, charges will apply. Great patio out the front which we used and great location. The upkeep of this cottage does not do it justice really. It is very tired and in need of some attention to detail and overall care. I would not stay here again as it stands.

Prime location. Absolutely plumb centre of town. Dog can be restricted to property boundary but can also walk freely to the lakeside without having to worry about loads of traffic. Front patio is a massive suntrap. Property is very comfortable and roomy. Best place we have stayed in Keswick, so far.

This is a beautiful apartment in a very convenient location for visiting the lake, shops, restaurants, and pubs. The lake with its walking paths and gardens is breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and appreciated the many helpful suggestions of places to visit provided by our wonderful host, Monica.

Very cosy cottage in a brilliant central location. The beds were particularly comfortable. Very clean and well appointed, we were very pleased to have a hairdryer in each bedroom! Lovely to be able to sit in the living room and see Causey Pike. The only things that would have improved our stay are a better shower and blackout curtains in the front Read morebedroom and the window at the top of the stairs. The WiFi wasnt great but that wasnt really an issue for us. Hide

This property did not meet our expectations and we left early because of that, relocating to another hotel. Frankly we would not have stayed for even one day had we known in advance what we would find. It was not an experience we would repeat.
