Ideally located for experiencing the Southern Lake District and close to Lake Windermere and Ambleside. For those looking to explore the area on foot or two wheels, you are surrounded by beautiful Lakeland countryside. Head to Lake Windermere for fun days out, with a range of water sports to enjoy. The area abounds with many National Trust properties such as Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter and Wray Castle. Located in the Lyth Valley with its natural tranquillity and great walking, you will be spoilt by the choice of gastro pubs and restaurants in the area.

Due to its rural location in a tranquil hamlet of houses, with neighbours nearby, this property is perfect for quiet family reunions but it is not suitable for parties.

Enter this renovated Farmhouse, built in the early 1700s, through the porch and oak front door into a large dining room complete with original oak beams and a cosy snug area centred around a wood burner and Smart TV, which has been lovingly created to provide the perfect holiday home for your group. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric Range oven and hob, American style fridge/freezer with an ice maker and filtered water, a dishwasher and microwave, complimented by a second dishwasher in the adjacent utility room where there is also a washing machine and tumble dryer, where there are beds for your four-legged friends and plenty of room for outdoor wear, boots and shoes, not to forget a wine fridge. A couple of steps down will lead you to the main lounge, with another wood burner and a Smart TV, French doors in the main lounge open onto the garden, a great space to relax on those nice evenings. There is also a handy separate WC across the hall. The first floor is made of three bedrooms, and the shower room with WC and an office with ethernet access and printer. The bedrooms include two king-size bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms and WC, and a twin room. The hidden bedroom is accessed from the main lounge by venturing up to the first floor where you will find a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom and WC. Venturing further up to the second floor is the master king-size bedroom  suite with your lounge area with TV and an en-suite with bath, separate shower and WC. Accessed from the en-suite bathroom is the dressing room.  Each bedroom has its own individual style achieved with quality bedding, furniture and soft furnishings and touches to create a relaxing haven away from home.

Heading outside, there is a large patio area with plenty of seating for your whole party plus a BBQ for al fresco dining to admire the views. There is an additional patio at the bottom of the garden with seating and a large cantilever parasol, a great spot to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the setting and watch your dogs enjoy the lawn. There is off-road parking for four cars at the property.

We stayed here as a family of 5 adults, 2 teenage boys and one 4 year old. We were blown away at how well equipped this cottage was and attentive its owners are. From the moment we arrived we were living in luxury and comfort. The teenage boys had their space enjoying the console in the second living room. The property is excellent. The owners provided everything for us, our guests and our dogs. It was warm and very comfortable, spotlessly clean and the kitchen was exceptionally equipped if you wished to cater at home. The directions to find the property were accurate. Gorgeous, very roomy & well equipped house. Lovely terraced garden, super quiet & peaceful area. Views of the sky on a clear night - just WOW! No big fells to tackle without a drive first, but some lovely walks nearby.

We celebrated our sons birthday here and Fathers Day. Such a beautiful location and the house was so welcoming. We have 3 adult children and their partners came too with our two dogs. We couldnt have asked for anything else the kitchen was fully equipped. Lounging areas were great, bedrooms and en-suites very comfortable. This is a great cottage, well equipped with a modern set up. We were a family group of 8 and had a great time. I would like to mention the very expensive coffee machine that made wonderful coffee. We didn't have dogs but the cottage is set up to cater for dogs. The outside has 3 separate seating areas which were all used to enjoy a coffee and the lRead moreovely garden. What a fabulous cottage containing everything you would need . We were really comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The garden is gorgeous and the cottage is situated in a really peaceful location. The lakes are beautiful and we would love to visit again.

A great week in a beautiful, spacious and very well equipped farmhouse. Three generations of our family plus dog had a wonderful time . The house felt like we had just stepped into someone's home and had everything you could need including a lovely welcome pack. Had a lovely stay at Damson Retreat. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. The size was great for our group of 10 & nicely decorated. The garden is a good size for dogs but it is possible to get under the fence into next door in 1 place so had to watch them. The owner was really helpful when we had queries & quickly responded. We stayed here for a family's 50th Birthday in November and the highlight was all of us sitting around the gorgeous dining room table having a wonderful birthday dinner. The house is amazing, the rooms all very spacious and excellently furnished. The location was perfect for us, secluded and with some amazing walks and views in the countryside.

Damson Retreat proved the ideal location and house for our family holiday in the Lakes. Everyone was able to have their own space but also allow us to come together around the table whether indoors or outdoors for meals together.
