What a lovely cottage, in a lovely wee village. Decor and the nik naks, ornaments were just delightful. The men in our group managed to work the cooker, so done all the cooking....bonus. The welcome goodies were very thoughtful too. Numerous books to read and plenty board games , if needed. It was a proper sun trap in the garden, lovely just to sRead moreit and listen to the birds and the neighbours hens. We managed to walk from Colby along the riverside to The Inn at Hoff for a lovely Sunday roast...highly recommended. We did veer off the path but eventually got there. We also had a walk on a bridge path up to a farm and watched the cows being herded off to be milked. The farmers were very chatty, and showed us another walk through the farm and along the River Eden. Would highly recommend this cottage. Hide

Perfect property, in a beautiful location. Spacious for our party of 5, comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful gardens and plenty of parking. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Good, helpful communication with the owner too, after I left an item behind.

Our group of 6 adults had a lovley weekend at the cabin. The kitchen was stocked high with all the needed crockery and equipment. The living and dining spaces were nicely layed out and provided a cosy space to sit/realxe. The bathrooms were spottless and the bedding was comfy.

We loved our stay at the cottage - it is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and very well equipped. The area is great - we went to Lowther Castle, Acorn Bank and Larch Cottage and wandered round Appleby. Would definitely recommend and would love to return!
