On Wednesday mornings, the town’s weekly market is a great place to pick up locally-sourced produce. The surrounding area is rich in places to explore, including the dramatic Cautley Spout (7 miles). Kendal (11 miles) and the delightful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale (13 miles) offer a variety of excellent eateries and pubs.

Beyond the lounge you’ll find the galley-style kitchen which is amply equipped for whipping up home cooked meals. The snug completes the downstairs with comfy chairs and a wood burner, the perfect place to cosy up with a book. Heading upstairs, there is the first of the two double bedrooms, with stunning views over to the river and quirky traditional features. The bunk room at the rear overlooks the raised garden and is the perfect space for little ones to play. The family bathroom is spacious with a walk-in shower and bath.
Outside there is a lovely, terraced area with seating for everyone to dine alfresco. For the brave why not enjoy a cool dip in the river or simply take in the sights and sounds whilst sitting on the riverbank. Private off-road parking is available for two cars opposite the cottage, plus roadside parking for one car on a first come, first served basis.
