This attractive three-storey property located close to the centre of Ambleside is ideal for a relaxing and active holiday for a family or a group of friends – a perfect base from which to explore the Lake District. From your door you can walk to all the main attractions in Ambleside; the Roman Fort is 1 mile away, and for children, Rothay Park is less than 300 metres away. A short drive away is Brockhole (3 miles) - an activity centre perfect for a day out with the kids - the opportunity to take a boat trip on the Coniston Gondola (8.5 miles), and The World of Beatrix Potter (6 miles). There are plenty of walks accessible right from your doorstep, or if you prefer going further afield, the Grizedale Forest and Visitor Centre is only 10.5 miles away.

Charming and stylishly furnished, 4 Swiss Villas offers plenty of space and natural light, and retains some of the original features such as the ornamental fireplace and a Lakeland stone floor. The front of the house is elevated and there is a short flight of steps up to the door. The entrance leads into a long hallway and on the left, you can enter the kitchen and dining area. The contemporary kitchen has everything you need to cook and there's plenty of space for dining, and a large bay window with seating to enjoy the view. A beautiful ornamental fireplace in the kitchen adds to the homely ambience. From the kitchen, there's access to a boot room, shower room, cellar and the back door to the patio. The boot room and cellar can be used for storage. In the lounge, enjoy comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect gas fire, perfect for chilly nights. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms - a twin overlooking the park and a queen-size with views over to Wansfell - and the family bathroom. On the top floor is a king-size bedroom with views of the fells.

The house has a large patio from front to back with a picnic bench to enjoy the view of the fells on warm and sunny days.

We had a really lovely stay at 4 Swiss Villas. The house had plenty of space, a lovely layout and an excellent location. No noise from the neighbouring property or outside. We would definitely stay again!

Such a lovely house, perfectly located in the centre of Ambleside. Every home comfort you could need, very comfortable and immaculately clean. Parking with the provided permit was easy and never an issue finding a spot. We hope to return here in the future.

A fantastic house in the most amazing location in the heart of Ambleside. The house had a really nice feel to it and the kitchen / downstairs was excellent - really good size for the 5 of us. It was a fantastic week - would highly recommend and we would absolutely stay again!

This house is in a great location, and is a very good size for Ambleside. We really liked the comfortable living room with fire and good quality TV. The kitchen is a very good size, with plenty of space for 6 people to dine in comfort. The 15 voucher for a local shop was also welcome. The beds were comfortable, which is always a big bonus - we aRead morell caught up on our sleep this holiday! My family felt very comfortable here, and we would recommend to others. If the owners spent a small amount of money upgrading the cooking facilities (i.e. decent kitchen knives, good sized pans etc), then this would improve the overall enjoyment for those who enjoy cooking. The location is perfect within minutes of restaurants and bars but also very quiet. Great views from the front elevation. The cottage has a "home from from home" feeling and is furnished to a high standard whilst its 1800's built character has not been lost. Good to see the original (?) fireplaces had been retained. For us the location is ideal park down road for the dogs first thing 2 minutes to the centre of town Ample off street parking with the permit, however if there is party with 2 cars then this will be an issue

Having taken a while to locate the property it was well worth the searching as the property was beautiful from top to bottom, really cosy and warm with everything you'll need at hand. Perfect house and location, very quiet and within walking distance of all shops, pubs etc. ideal with a dog with the back utility area when your wet to come in the back door and remove all wet gear. Would definitely come back again

This is an absolutely beautiful cottage and extremely well equipped. Washing Machine and dryer were particularly welcome. Lots of board games including Lakes edition Monopoly which was very useful on a very wet day . Great for our dogs with large boot room and kitchen with washable floor.
