This attractive three-storey property located close to the centre of Ambleside is ideal for a relaxing and active holiday for a family or a group of friends – a perfect base from which to explore the Lake District. From your door you can walk to all the main attractions in Ambleside; the Roman Fort is 1 mile away, and for children, Rothay Park is less than 300 metres away. A short drive away is Brockhole (3 miles) - an activity centre perfect for a day out with the kids - the opportunity to take a boat trip on the Coniston Gondola (8.5 miles), and The World of Beatrix Potter (6 miles). There are plenty of walks accessible right from your doorstep, or if you prefer going further afield, the Grizedale Forest and Visitor Centre is only 10.5 miles away.

Charming and stylishly furnished, 4 Swiss Villas offers plenty of space and natural light, and retains some of the original features such as the ornamental fireplace and a Lakeland stone floor. The front of the house is elevated and there is a short flight of steps up to the door. The entrance leads into a long hallway and on the left, you can enter the kitchen and dining area. The contemporary kitchen has everything you need to cook and there's plenty of space for dining, and a large bay window with seating to enjoy the view. A beautiful ornamental fireplace in the kitchen adds to the homely ambience. From the kitchen, there's access to a boot room, shower room, cellar and the back door to the patio. The boot room and cellar can be used for storage. In the lounge, enjoy comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner-effect gas fire, perfect for chilly nights. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms - a twin overlooking the park and a queen-size with views over to Wansfell - and the family bathroom. On the top floor is a king-size bedroom with views of the fells.

The house has a large patio from front to back with a picnic bench to enjoy the view of the fells on warm and sunny days.

Perfect cottage for us, lots of games for our 10 year old, jigsaws for the adults and lots of space for our black Labrador to sunbathe outside - the boot room doubled up as her bedroom and it was great having somewhere she could escape to at night to get much needed rests after walks and swims in Rydal Water. Lots of walks for us all to do directlyRead more from the cottage, and our 10 year old loved the freedom of going to the playpark on their own. Takeaways from Jintana Thai, Dodds and Misto. Another fab stay in this lovely cottage. Ambleside is the perfect place to celebrate New Year and catch up with good friends. Lots of great dog walking spaces and dog-friendly places to eat and drink. Enjoyed dinner at Lucy's and at the Priest Hole, as well as drinks at The Temperance Inn. Lovely cottage placed centrally to go either side for sightseeing. Facilities were brilliant, very comfortable especially with the gas fire and brilliant support from the hosts. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!

Wonderful house for the five of us, we were very comfortable and would certainly come again. Conveniently close to all the shops and facilities in the town, all within easy walking distance. Great house in a superb location - we walked and walked and walked then ate! We loved The Old Stamp House and Lucy's, our favourite walk was the Fairfield Horseshoe.
