Bright cottage located in the village of Hawkshead, ideal for a family break in the stunning Lake District.

This charming cottage, in the heart of Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District, is a perfect retreat and an excellent base for exploring this stunning area. Ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, in Hawkshead you can find the Beatrix Potter Gallery as well as tea rooms, pubs and gift shops. Coniston, Langdale, Grasmere, Ambleside and Grizedale are all within a short distance, while both Windermere and Bowness can also be easily reached via ferry.

On entering this delightful cottage you will find yourself in the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. In the welcoming and comfortable lounge you can sit and relax, enjoying TV or watching a movie using the DVD. The elegant dining area is ideally situated, and is perfect whether you’re sitting down to a special meal or simply grabbing a snack. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need during your stay including a microwave, electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a small freezer located under the stairs. Heading upstairs you will find two comfortable bedrooms: a king-size double with en-suite shower room and WC, and a cosy twin bedroom. You will also find the main bathroom which has a shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping through the French doors in the lounge, you will find yourself in the large private patio/enclosed yard to the rear of the cottage with table and chairs. This is a safe and secure space for bikes or children. There is parking available for one car to the front of the property.

We loved this cottage, it is a credit to the owners and cleaner, it is very clean, well maintained, has good wifi. If you like to sleep in the pitch black and with black out blinds, this isn't the cottage for you but wasn't a bother to us.

We had a lovely long weekend staying in 11 Kings Yard(again), the weather made it with wall to wall sunshine for the four days. The cottage was again nice and clean and warm and comfortable, and is really well placed to be able to pop out into the village for a meal,drink or to the shops.We have used this cottage a number of times and the standard Read morehas been maintained at a good level and no doubt we will be back to use it again in the very near future Hide
