This is a beautifully appointed and equipped cottage in a fantastic location. We had a lovely stay and felt very much at home. Some earlier reviews pointed out some cleaning issues, but these have obviously been resolved. The house was sparkling clean when we arrived. Would highly recommend.

Excellently appointed cottage in a great position for visiting Cartmel and the South Lakes. Both the living and bedroom areas are comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, bright and airy. Rear garden while quiet is let down by a lack of basic maintenance.

A really lovely little property. Feels really spacious and well thought out. Very handy for being close to the village centre but not too busy for through traffic. Parking directly outside the property wasnt an issue despite permits required for the other parking spaces around the village too.

Locally Holker House and gardens is worth a visit and there are the most beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
