Lake Windermere is 4 miles away and can be explored on foot or by boat, while there are various water sports to try as well. If food is your thing, don’t miss a day trip to the village of Cartmel (12.5 miles) which is famously home to the sticky toffee pudding and boasts many great places to eat.
