Located only eight miles from Lake Windermere, this delightful terraced, former weaver’s cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway in a quiet corner of Cumbria.

With coast and countryside both within easy reach, this charming Lake District location offers the perfect stay for an adventure seeking group. Happily sleeping four guests across two bedrooms, the property lends itself perfectly to a small family or perhaps a couple hoping to enjoy a little bit of extra space throughout their stay. You’re welcome to bring along one dog, ideal for days out exploring the National Park’s namesake lakes, towering feels or even the dramatic seascapes along the vibrant Cumbrian coastline.

Beautifully decorated with contemporary accents pairing traditional features including authentic beams and an original stone fireplace, this cottage will wow from the moment you arrive. Step inside to find the open-plan lounge/kitchen complete with a breakfast table to one side. Experience the riverside views whilst curled up in the lounge, kindling a fire on the wood burner when the cold weather hits. Should the weather stay bright and sunny, a small courtyard to the front of the holiday home provides a place to sit out. Finally, head on upstairs to find two equally inviting bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – for resting up with a quality night’s sleep.

Amble around the village of Cark, taking a walk along the River Eea and stopping off at the village pub for refreshments (less than 500 metres). Further dining options can be found at the popular foodie spot of Cartmel (2 miles), a town with a Michelin star restaurant and many other options to boot. A relaxing day out can be spent at Holker Hall and Gardens (1 mile) or perhaps engaging in activities at Cartmel Racecourse (2 miles), whilst a walk to the coastal spot of Humphrey Head (3 miles) is a must for fantastic scenery. And of course, the many wonders of the Lake District National Park are accessible just a car journey away.

A very welcoming, well equipped cottage in a beautiful position at the side of a beck. Exceptionally clean. Loved the proximity to the railway station. We took a train ride from Cark up the stunning coastline to St Bees. Great walking and cycling routes.
