Lovely holiday lodge located in an elevated position on the edge of the village surrounded by meadowland and offering easy access to the many delights of Hawkshead and the Lake District National Park.
Situated on the edge of Hawkshead and surrounded by meadowland, this delightful lodge is a wonderful rural retreat. It sleeps six people across three bedrooms and enjoys a great location for scenic walks and cycle routes, as well as the beautiful northern lakes. Local shops, pubs and a restaurant are also within easy walking distance.
This charming property is one of three handcrafted lodges which sit in an elevated position, offering homely accommodation. A short flight of steps leads up to a handy porch area, which takes you on into a spacious open-plan living room. Leather sofas surround the TV, creating a cosy spot for everyone to enjoy a film or boardgame together in the evenings. The traditional pine kitchen is well-equipped with all you might need to cook up a hearty breakfast or meal for the family. The large dining table also provides a sociable space for everyone to eat together. French doors in this room lead out onto the terrace and take in impressive views across to Claife Heights. To the rear of the lodge you’ll discover three pretty and simply decorated bedrooms, where a restful night awaits, along with the main bathroom. Enjoy a sunset drink on the sunny terrace, which runs along the front of the lodge.
Beatrix Potter fans won’t want to miss the village’s gallery, where some of her early illustrations are on display. Take a boat trip across Coniston Water (5 miles) or Lake Windermere (5 miles), where you can also try a number of water sports. For woodland walks, sculpture trails and even Segway riding, Grizedale Forest (3.5 miles) has something for all the family.
