This is a very comfortable house to stay in and well equipped to a high standard. It is well placed for a very short wander into the village and its amenities. It has a nice out look across to the village. We have used it a few times over the last few years and will continue to enjoy use of this house for holidays when visiting the Lakes

A great place to stay! Comfortable, spacious, well equipped and very cosy of an evening with a brilliantly efficient wood burner. Close walking distance to all amenities (Co-op, cafes, deli, post office, pubs) and within easy striking distance to Coniston, Ambleside, Tarn Hows etc. Walking direct from the front door is also possible. We have just returned from a lovely week away. We had two small children (1 & 4). The house was beautiful finished and cosy. It was a quiet cottage with only a safe 2 min walk to the pubs/centre of Hawkshead. Yet provided parking for 2 cars if needed. A great location in general for accessing most of the south lakes. We loved this cottage - so spacious, clean and well-equipped, and a perfect location for the village pubs and shops. Lots of beautiful walks to do locally and only a short drive to Ambleside and Coniston. We couldnt have chosen a better place for a week in the Lake District and would love to return there another time.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
