Located at Skelwith Bridge, this cosy home has a traditional feel, with all the modern touches you’d expect. The open-plan living area is both light and airy, with a cosy sofa for you to snuggle up on as you enjoy a glass of wine and a film together. If you’re not eating out at one of the local pubs, you’ll be able to rustle up a delicious meal for two in the stylish kitchen, which can be enjoyed in the dining area. Sink down under the duvet in the homely bedroom and enjoy a restful night’s sleep, before waking up to those impressive views from your bed. Outside you’ll find a patio area accessed via the bedroom or the lounge, where you can sit back and take in the views towards the Langdale ranges and beyond.

Immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside by following one of the many walks that pass the front door. Wander around the nearby village of Langdale (2 miles) with its local cafe, shop and pub. Take to the water at Lake Windermere (11.5 miles) to see this popular area from a different perspective. Nearby Rydal Mount and Gardens (7 miles), the historic family home of William Wordsworth, is a wonderful place to learn more about the poet’s life.

Lovely apartment in a gorgeous setting. The window out of the lounge is like a living painting - just beautiful! Great location for trips out all over the Lake District or a base to start some stunning walks.

Very quiet location and although there were many holiday makers in the complex, it was as though we were the only ones. Good for people who like to get away from centres of population.

Lovely location but due to the hilly surroundings It is not suitable for older or infirm people when walking from the location but great if you want to drive to walks

Cottage was lovely, very homely, well equipped and nice little touches made for the perfect holiday home. Area is good few walks around short drive to Ambleside which has good pubs! Only downside is The pool was much smaller than I realised and bit cold! So wouldnt have high hopes on that. But the rest was perfect. Will definitely be back at some pRead moreoint. Hide

Definitely be back great base for lakes nice touch from brian leaving us a bottle of wine which was just what we needed after such a long journey

Lovely peaceful location, 1 hour walk into Ambleside, 1 hour to elterwater which is well worth a visit, a pub at the bottom of the bank 8 minutes walk down about 15 uphill back and a lovely little cafe next to the river about 10 minutes walk, its vegan but still well worth a visit home baked bread and donuts are amazing. Would definitely go back again. The lodge had everything you could want like a home from home. It was great waking up every morning with all the wildlife. Deers grazing right outside red squirrels running around. Also it was quite close to the local village just a 2 mile drive into the quaint village of Ambleside.

The apartment was fairly comfortable and very clean. The owners were very helpful with directions - can be difficult to find in the dark. The apartment has amazing views and is ideally situated to access the Lakes. It was warm and fairly well equipped, but the sofa can be uncomfortable if resting for a long time. The bed would also benefit from a bRead moreigger quilt and the bedroom from greater ventilation. Overall a really pleasant place to use as a base when staying in the Lakes Hide
