It is a great cottage with plenty of room for three families. The location, right in the middle of Cartmel is great. Parking is a bit of a nuisance but the Racecourse car park is not much of a walk and reasonably priced for a week's stay. Cartmel has a great selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from and is a nice base for exploring the lakes

The location of the house is just perfect! The view from the dining room table is of the famous arch and center of Cartmel. Handy for L'Enclume and other pubs, restaurants, shops and the priory. Or, if you want to cook in, the kitchen is superbly equipped; small touches like cool bags and lunchboxes mean you can also pack a picnic. We only used oneRead more bedroom, which was very comfy, and the bath and showers were excellent. And, we loved the den on the top floor for reading or watching DVDs. Hide

Great location, the lounge is dark and much smaller than it appears in the pictures. The cottage overall is a good standard and could not be more central .

Cottage is situated in a lovely central spot in the village. Its comfortable but we did feel the living room is a bit worn/tired now. A modern smart tv and DVD player would be welcome downstairs on those cold wet days. Its a warm cottage with plenty of space. Beds are comfortable and we slept well. En-suite shower is not v effective so we all used Read moremain bathroom. Two of the toilets also have an odd compressor so there is a loud whooshing noise. We were told thats normal. Hide

Very nice and comfortable cottage, ideal placement. Parking is an issue if you expect an allocated space or free parking as there is any, however the local race course is meters away and isnt too expensive for the week.

Amazing service, the rooms were excellent and the house was warm and comfortable. We had everything we needed and we felt amazing. We will definitely come again next year. The surroundings were great and we loved the garden full of flowers. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience.

We loved this cottage and its quirky layout . Worked particularly well for our young adult children to bring a friend each and have their own space- they loved the chill out room upstairs. Slightly overpriced given the lack of outside space and layout. Layout is impractical - dining room other side of living room away from kitchen. Chillax room is flattered by photos - it's in the loft and low beams and steep stairs meant we never used it.

Really lovely styled and quirky cottage. Its the perfect location, with the sticky toffee pudding shop only paces away! Sadly no garden, but with so much around this wasnt a problem. Plenty of bathrooms and really spacious bedrooms. Would highly recommend!

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
