The cottage was small and not particularly clean. Cobwebs/spiders everywhere, like the place hadn't been hoovered in weeks. In fact the first thing I did was whip round with the hoover I found under the stairs! The bathroom and kitchen were basic but clean enough. There is also no direct access to the garden from the house which was a real shame soRead more we couldn't leave the door open for the dog. Location was lovely and quiet. About half an hour walk to Hawkshead via the footpath outside. Hide

Tired, cleanliness only at face value, cupboards not properly cleaned. Subsidence in the very small garden meant that it was not safe to let the dog into the garden without constant supervision. Mish-mash of pots, pans and cutlery. It was my husbands view that it was the end of the season and this may have been the reason. It is my view that standaRead morerds should be the same from the start to the end of the season. Not worth the money, we could have stayed in a local hotel for less Hide

As Comments made in improvements aera regarding decoration and cleanliness would not stay again as not worth the money paid. What a pity as this cottage could be so nice as it is in a good aera for visit to the Lakes, Note the garden could be improved.

Lovely quiet location with nice outside space although driveway is a little tight.Cottage has an overwhelming stench which is possibly down to a filthy rug in the front room yes we have a dog but I dont feel the cleanliness of this property is acceptable for a holiday let. Mattress is in need of replacing. Bathroom clean and functional. Its such a Read moreshame this cottage could be so beautiful it just needs the attention it deserves as it does have all you need just cleanliness lets it down. Hide

Cottage not very clean. Reasonable location although if you were walking anywhere by foot had to walk on main road for half a mile to reach footpaths as the path for walkers was overgrown. Unable to park at pub at outgate as wheel clamping in use.
