This a lovely quaint cottage with the added value you can take 2 dogs its cosy and has a lovely log burner. The tv channels are basic 5 free. I took my iPad and a HDMI cable with the apple fitting and was able to put netflix through the tv, god send over christmas. Its not as close to a pub as desired and also not safe to walk when dark. In general we had a great time once we got our bearings . We wish the cottage could have been closer to more amenities although it was nice being so quiet. We will definitely be back but want to be closer to either hawkshead or Ambleside

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
