Located in the peaceful village of Satterthwaite, this delightful barn conversion enjoys some beautiful scenic walks and cycle trails from its doorstep. Sleeping four people in two bedrooms, it’s a great choice for couples or small families who are looking to explore and enjoy the great outdoors. It is also in a prime location for visiting the hugely popular Lake Windermere and Coniston Water.

Accessed via a flight of external steps, this welcoming home is both stylish and contemporary, with simple decor and comfortable furnishings. At its heart is the spacious open-plan living space which focuses around the lounge area, which boasts a cosy wood burner for chillier evenings. Unwind on the snuggly sofas and take in the views across the rolling countryside around you. The light and airy dining area is a great spot to enjoy a tasty meal together, which can be easily rustled up in the well-equipped, modern kitchen. Decorated in neutral, warming tones, the inviting bedrooms will see you drifting off into a peaceful sleep in no time. The king-size is found on this level while an en-suite double is on the lower-ground floor. Enjoy a little al fresco dining on the enclosed south-facing patio or challenge each other to a game of tennis in the court guests have access to.

Have a meal at the local pub, which is within walking distance, while local shops and a restaurant are 4 miles away. Head to Grizedale Forest (1 mile) where you can follow one of its woodland or sculpture trails, or have a go at the high ropes adventure course. Lake Windermere (9 miles) and Coniston Water (9 miles) have something for the whole family, including boat rides, walks and water sports such as paddle boarding and canoeing.

Bobtail Cottage is a charming gem, beautifully equipped and cosy, in a very beautiful location with a stunning view. Its important to appreciate its relatively remote location and plan your stay and trips accordingly. You need to plan ahead a bit, for example, we did a big shop on the way there. Bobtail Cottage is in an excellent location with fabolous views over the hills. It is within spitting distance for the local (very good) pub and also the Grizdale Forest is right on the doorstep

Bobtail Cottage is situated in a fabulous location, essentially in the Grizedale Forest with walks right on the doorstep. The cottage has all the facilities you could ask for, coupled with fabulous views over the fields & a great pub (The Eagle's Head) only a 2 minute walk away. We very much hope to return.
