Bobtail Cottage is situated in a fabulous location, essentially in the Grizedale Forest with walks right on the doorstep. The cottage has all the facilities you could ask for, coupled with fabulous views over the fields & a great pub (The Eagle's Head) only a 2 minute walk away. We very much hope to return. Satterthwaite is a bit remote but we knew this. You just need to be organised with your shopping for milk, bread etc as the village does not have a shop. What you get is - - a fabulous cottage with great views - peace and quiet - a great pub serving good beer and food less than 5 minutes walk away - a bridleway path leading out of the villageRead more and via a bit of a climb, linking with one of the Grizedale forest trails allowing easy off road cycling to Go Ape and the Forestry Centre at Grizedale - a circular walk from the end of the lane the cottage is on, through the woods and round to enter the village on the road passing the pub! - what's not to like? Lovely comfortable warm place to stay especially on a wet day. Handy for Coniston walks and cycling and nice pub in the village (best to book if you want to eat).

Really tidy, modern cottage in perfect state. Great views and a very quiet and peaceful enviroment. Bit further (+/- 20 min drive) from larger villages, but would definitely recommend this cottage.
