I booked this cottage for my parents and they were over the moon with it. They had a fantastic stay - they were especially impressed with the two fancy bathrooms. Location was perfect, close to train station, Booths supermarket and restaurants. They only have a small car so fitted fine in the car port. They have already said they would stay again. Really enjoyed our stay in this property, good location for pubs and restaurants. Really comfortable beds and good sized bathrooms with spacious walk-in showers in both! Room for improvement on standard of cleaning but this didnt spoil our holiday

Loved the property and the fact it was finished, furnished and equipped to such a high standard. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The location was ideal for public transport and didnt need to use the car from arrival until the journey home. Will definitely book again.

Fabulously situated however the road was noisy most mornings by 7am. Ive never stayed anywhere that didnt provide soap in the bathroom and kitchen and only left 2 toilet rolls for 2 adults for a week. The second bedroom needs darker curtains or blinds as much too light. The door to the master bedroom did not close. Sofas uncomfortable, needs cushioRead morens and lounge would benefit from softer low lamps to make lighting less harsh. No supplies at all (milk, tea etc) left. Hide

Great location in the heart of Windermere village, but the cottage definitely is not worth the 4* rating. The level of cleanliness was very disappointing, it was clear from the dust and dirt that a deep clean has not been conducted in a very long time. Thankfully we brought antibacterial wipes with us, so we were able to wipe down surfaces and bathRead morerooms before use. The star rating and the price of the cottage should be reflected to suit a 2* cottage in a good location. Hide

We had a lovely Christmas at Bottle Tops. The downstairs area is roomy and comfortable, great for having the family visit. The little Christmas tree was also a very thoughtful touch. We hope to book again next year.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
