Semi-detached cottage situated on a millpond in a quiet location within walking distance of the village of Hawkshead.

This pretty semi-detached cottage is set in a beautiful garden with a millpond and stream nearby. With glorious views of the Vale of Esthwaite, it’s just a short walk from Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. A thriving village, ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead offers a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Close by is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake. Coniston, Grizedale, Langdale, Grasmere and Ambleside are all within easy reach, and the busy centres of Windermere and Bowness are a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On entering this delightful cottage, you will find yourself in the light and welcoming lounge. Equipped with TV, DVD, a wood burner effect electric fire, and traditional exposed beams, this is a perfect room to relax in, with glorious views of the valley. Numerous guide books have also been provided to help guests get the most out of the local area. Next door, you will find the spacious kitchen/dining room. The elegant and attractive kitchen is equipped with everything you may need including an electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave. The washing machine is located in a useful storage space under the stairs in the hallway. There is also a stylish dining area, ideal for enjoying a special meal. The kitchen/diner also has an electric fire and TV. Heading upstairs, you will find three bedrooms, all of which enjoy lovely views from every window. There is one cosy double with its own wash basin, a comfy twin and a smaller single bedroom. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and is complete with WC and a heated towel rail.

Stepping outside, you have the use of the large lawn garden to the front of the house or you can sit back in the patio area with garden furniture to the side of the property. The south-facing garden is well cared for and a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the Lake District - please be aware, because of the open water, young children will need to be supervised. There is ample off-road parking by the cottage, and secure bike storage is available.

A lovely house in a good location for visiting the main sights in the lakes. Loved the strolls to the local pub and the friendliness of the owners.Altogether fab!
