Our first impression of Brigg House was not good. The property is in need of exterior renovation and painting; the grounds need to be cleaned and the gardens tidied. The garden furniture was old and shabby and insufficient quantity for our group. The interior was better, though some cupboard doors and other surfaces in the small kitchen, as well asRead more the downstairs bathroom, need a more thorough cleaning. Hot tub is a good feature, but there was no way to regulate temperature. Not good value. Hide

We loved our stay at spacious and comfortable.Brigg House. The hot tub and the hammocks were especially good. The location - quiet, secluded yet close to Coniston, Brown Howe "beach" and some great walks, was perfect. Negatives? The property has a lovely garden but needs an outside dining table and chairs. The local pub, due to COVID, would only seRead morerve us in a marquee and wouldn't allow us in, even for toilets (portaloos! Yuck). But we'd defintely go there again Hide

In need of TLC on exterior of building, great location, well equipped, beds extremely comfortable, great enclosed garden, inside was spotlessly clean, would love to stay again.

Lovely cottage, super comfortable with a really well equipped kitchen. Footpath right next to the house so could go out for walks without having to go on the road. If you get a supermarket delivery, would recommend getting it to the back door (left path looking at the house)

Great and quiet location. Lovely warm log burners. Comfortable beds. Lovely cottage but some unfinished touches. Expected more for the price tag. Many door locks don't work. Ensuite room 1 door knob came off. Need mirror in the family bathroom. Well kitted kitchen but small. No oven mitts and freezer!!

We had 10 people staying in comfort for a week in October and cannot speak highly enough of this excellent accommodation. Superb wood burners in two rooms, well equipped kitchen, two local pubs (Wilson Arms recommended), comfortable bedrooms, great hot tub, comprehensive and helpful instructions - it has everything!

The house is lovely and a really good family space. The hot tub is also excellent and very easy to use. The location suited us perfectly with lots to do close by and some wonderful walks. We did all of shopping in Coniston. Hutchinson's has a great butcher.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
