Beautiful terrace cottage in the pretty hamlet of Far Sawrey, less than two miles from Lake Windermere, the perfect base for exploring the Lake District.

Brook End is a beautiful, traditional Lakeland terraced cottage that is set in the pretty hamlet of Far Sawrey. Situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Far Sawrey is where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous stories. The cottage is also close to Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District, offering a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Nearby is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake which also inspired Wordsworth. Ambleside, Coniston, Grizedale and Grasmere are within easy reach, and Windermere and Bowness are a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On entering this beautiful cottage via the stable door, you will find yourself in the charming and inviting lounge where you can relax with TV and the DVD, and snuggle down in front of the impressive fireplace with large wood burner. Exploring further you will find the bright and welcoming open-plan kitchen and dining room. The light and airy kitchen is equipped with everything you might need including an induction hob and electric oven with integral microwave, dishwasher, fridge and washer/dryer. A small freezer can be found under the stairs. The attractive dining room is ideal whether you’re grabbing a snack or enjoying a special meal. Leading from the dining room is a back porch with heater, plenty of space for boots and coats, and access out onto the sunny patio. Heading up the first flight of stairs, you will find the comfy master double bedroom, which has views towards the church and an en-suite shower room with WC. This floor also has a stylish family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Going up a second flight of stairs, you will discover two additional pretty bedrooms with dorma windows and low beams. The comfortable double bedroom has views of the rolling hills behind the cottage, and the cosy twin bedroom has views towards the church.

Stepping outside, you will find a sunny patio area with steps down to a lawned garden with shrubs and fruit trees. This is a delightful spot for sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the fine views at the end of a great day. The garden path leads down to the off-road parking area to the rear of the cottage. Bikes can be stored in the garden shed. There is off-road parking.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Lovely location and nice cottage. It poured down nearly all weekend so we had to spend more time indoors than we would have liked, but it was very comfortable - both for sitting around the kitchen table and lazing on the sofas.

The cottage was wonderfully comfortable, peaceful location with a stunning view of St Peters church opposite which was very atmospheric. We had everything we needed and lots of thoughtful extras....milk, torches etc. Had a very relaxing week and would highly recommend the cottage.

Brook End is a lovely cottage in an excellent location for the Southern Fells. We were impressed with the facilities and comfort of the cottage, especially the log burner for which fuel had been thoughtfully provided.
