Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District, is just two miles away. Ambleside, Coniston, Grizedale and Grasmere are within easy reach, and Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, including hiking, kayaking, biking and fishing, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On entering this delightful ground-floor apartment you will find yourself in the attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lovely and traditional lounge has exposed beams and offers a beautiful view. Complete with TV, DVD and CD and leather sofa and chair, it’s an ideal spot for relaxing. The stylishly designed kitchen area is equipped with everything you might need including electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. There is a separate freezer onsite and the dining area is ideally situated. There are two comfortably furnished, cosy bedrooms – one double with en-suite shower room with WC, and one twin with en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping outside, you can enjoy the glorious views and the beauty of the landscaped gardens and surrounding woodlands. The property enjoys private lake frontage and grassy shoreline perfect for a family picnic.  You can also explore approximately 40 acres of gardens and woodlands. There is a children’s play area with swings, climbing frame and outside table tennis, and there is ample off-road parking available.

Our apartment was clean, bright and well equipped. The views from the front windows are magnificent. Alan, the warden, was very helpful and explained all we needed to know on our arrival. Due to its central position in the Lake District we were able to get to most of the main tourist attractions with ease.

The apartment (Broomriggs 2) was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped, including Sky tv and a DVD player. Availability of binoculars is a nice touch. Broomriggs is in a great location, very peaceful and there is ample parking. And the view from the front of the house is fabulous!

We had a beautiful 3 night stay. It was ideal for our two small children and gave us the most picturesque outlook on the lake below. We loved rowing the boats on the lake and having such close access to the village and sites we wanted to see. The gardens are also spectacular and beautifully maintained. A wonderful location with access to everything we wanted to do. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped, the games and boats offered at broomriggs were enjoyed by all and the Tesco man delivered. We had a very happy family holiday and all agreed we would like to return to Broomriggs 2 again.

We had a lovely, relaxing fortnight at Broomriggs 2. The apartment was excellent overall, comfortable and well equipped. We loved waking up and looking out over the garden and over Esthwaite Water to Grizedale. The leather sofas were a little too soft for us but that is a very minor personal point and we would not hesitate to stay in Apartment 2Read more again. The gardens are immaculately kept by Alan the warden and we enjoyed chatting to Alan whenever we met around the house and garden. We would love to stay again sometime. Hide

From our initial greeting by the warden, Alan, to our departure I must say that all four of us, in our party, had a fabulous break. The weather was all we could ask of it, which makes a big difference when enjoying the facilities at Broomriggs. From rowing to table tennis, bird watching to putting, we couldn't go wrong. The only downside was like DRead moreave, we didn't want to leave but we had to resign ourselves to do so. However, we will be back at Broomriggs to enjoy the magnificent view. Can't say the same for Dave. Hide
