Self-contained apartment hidden away on a private lane in rolling countryside, between the villages of Hawkshead and Coniston.

Enjoying a secluded and tranquil rural location, this couples’ retreat is the perfect getaway for a romantic break. Close to the village of Hawkshead, as well as many scenic lake and fell walks, it’s a super base from which to explore the Lake District. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and enjoying stunning views from its private balcony, this is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect.

Located on a private lane, this first-floor cottage is welcoming and homely. The lounge/diner is a cosy space to relax after a busy day of activities. Take in the gorgeous views from the comfortable chairs, before putting on a film and pouring a glass of wine. An electric fire helps to keep the room extra toasty on chillier evenings, while the compact kitchen is equipped with all you might need to prepare a hearty breakfast, or evening meal if you fancy dining in. Wake up to that beautiful scenery in the bedroom, which is both restful and inviting. Glass doors lead from the lounge area onto your private balcony, where you can take a seat and really absorb the peaceful atmosphere. There is also a pretty garden area, which is perfect for a picnic or drink at sunset. Handy bike storage is available for keen cyclists.

Walk the popular circular route at the National Trust’s Tarn Hows, less than a mile away. For those looking for a more challenging hike or climb there are plenty of local opportunities including climbs at Dow Crag (19 miles) and Hodge Close Quarry (6 miles). If water sports are your thing then Coniston Water (4 miles) is packed with activities to try including canoeing and paddle boarding. Let someone else do the cooking and enjoy a meal at one of the local pubs in Hawkshead (1.5 miles).

Tucked away on a no-through lane this is a perfect base, especially for walkers. Warm, comfortable and incredibly peaceful.

Lovely arrival , gift bag and information left was ideal . Location was perfect and quiet and the flat was cozy and welcoming. Had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend, cant wait to return!!!!

If you want a modern all singing all dancing place this maybe isnt for you! If you want warmth, comfort, peace and quiet with a lovely view (plus balcony for good weather) youll love it. Most people including us keep returning.
