We had a lovely time and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. Lovely location, cosy cottage and perfect for our little dog who loved the woods up the footpath. We had originally booked the cottage for the Easter holidays: the company were brilliant and rearranged our holiday dates very quickly. Would thoroughly recommend.

The cottage is in a fantastic location. It is quiet and the garden is really fabulous. (Beware - our dog jumped over the lowish stone wall!) The walking is great with footpaths in every direction. However, there are drawbacks. It is very dark inside and not very comfortable. The kitchen is not well equipped if you like to cook. There is not even a Read moresalad or fruit bowl. The shower in the main bedroom is tiny but the family bathroom is great. We had a good time and great weather. Hide

This is our favourite Lake District cottage and our 3rd visit. It feels like home as soon as you walk in. The location is perfect, rural and peaceful but only minutes from Hawkshead. The dogs love it too and there are lovely walks straight from the door. The cottage is bright, warm and well equipped. Comfortable beds and a large garden. We love it!

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
