Enjoying panoramic views overlooking rolling fields and Lake Windermere itself, the property has been lovingly designed with the emphasis on quality, creating a chic and spacious home from home. With lots of country and lake shore walks, cycle routes and lake cruises guests will have plenty to explore during their stay. Far Sawrey is just a short walk away where you will find a warm and welcoming pub serving a selection of good food and real ales. A little further along the road you'll find Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter as well as another charming pub dating back to the 17th Century . Hawkshead village is a just a short drive away and offers a great selection of shops and places to eat out or guests can take the nearby ferry across Lake Windermere to Bowness.

The stable door leads into the useful utility room, great for walking gear and cleaning off muddy paws, here there is also a washing machine and an additional freezer. There is also a separate WC found off this room. From here you enter the very well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher with a lovely view over the lake and oak table for sharing meals together. From this room you pass through the conservatory, overlooking the lake and leading into the spacious lounge. The high ceiling, wood burner set in a traditional slate fireplace, sofas and TV/DVD combine to create the perfect place to relax with friends after a day exploring the Lakes. Off the lounge is the first king-size bedroom, this room has dual aspect windows with lake views and a traditional fireplace. A hallway leads from the lounge to the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Still on the ground floor is the second king-size bedroom with a French door leading out to a patio area overlooking the lake, this bedroom has an en-suite shower room and WC. A staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor where you will find the pretty double bedroom, also with en-suite shower room and WC.

Heading outside is a patio area with garden furniture, the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the scenery.

We loved our stay at this cosy house, it was perfect for six adults and a dog! It was warm, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the washing machine was useful for our wet walking gear. There was plenty of space for drying clothes on the airers, and for keeping muddy boots out of the house. A comfortable, beautifully decorated and well equipped home with comfortable beds and seats in the lounge area. Situated in a superb, quiet but not isolated part of the Lake District.

We had a lovely stay at Cunsey House. There was plenty of space for our group of 3 couples and 2 dogs. The house was clean, well equipped, comfortable and spacious. We liked the layout as it suited our group. Our only problem was a little issue with the logs when we arrived but it was quickly and politely dealt with by the cottage agents.

Amazing location, we have stayed in this beautiful house numerous times, it feels like a home from home. It is situated in a beautiful, quiet spot. The little touches that the owners leave to help out make a difference ie. Hand soaps, washing up liquid, cleaning products, tinfoil, cling film and useful things like this all help, even bird seed (whiRead morech we always replace for the next visitors) to help the birds. It was a very well equipped cottage in a perfect location. Bedrooms are very spacious and very well furnished. I would not hesitate in coming back as we had a really good week there and lucky in respect of no-one in the flat above.

Very convenient position, lovely views, peaceful surrounding, quirky layout with bedroom off lounge. Bit noisy from upstairs apartment. Open stairs less appropriate for toddlers. 2 very large ground floor king size bedrooms and good size third double room. Plenty of outside seating.

Home in a beautiful location and well equipped. Much bigger inside than anticipated. Outside sitting areas great to enjoy the sun. Lovely walks from doorstep and access to Windermere for paddle boarding. Windermere ferry, Hawkshead, Coniston all short drives away

We had a wonderful week in the cottage. The location is perfect. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The food goodies when we arrived were much appreciated. I would recommend this cottage as a wonderful place for a holiday.

Location excellent. Quiet area. House very noisy. You can hear every movement from other holidaymakers through the floor above. Counteracts the quiet tranquil location. Conservatory leaked water through windows and down the wall. Had to mop up each time it rained (daily). Tumble dryer did not work. Very dusty. We were family of 5. No serving dishesRead more or serving spoons and only 2 teaspoons! Minor issues in the big scheme of world problems but for 1200 per week we have experienced much better. Hide

Cunsey House is in a lovely location, with superb views over the lake and fields. It is well furnished and has everything you need for a week's holiday. It was good that each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The lovely welcome food pack that was left is a nice touch and contained locally produced items including jam and ground coffee. We absolutely loved the cottage and it was perfect for our stay (6 adults, 1 toddler) with the local amenities a short drive, and plenty of walks to admire the stunning views across Windermere. The living spaces were well equipped and comfortable.

The cottage is on the East side of Windermere about a mile from the east shore side of the ferry. For us, the location was ideal, Hawkshead is the nearest place to get provisions so make sure you have either a grocery delivery booked or take an initial supply of food with you (Sainsbury's delivers to the cottage). Fantastic getaway place when you want peace and quiet; accommodation was comfortable, bedrooms were big, plenty of bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Lovely homely place - the views in the photographs don't do it justice. We approached from Lakeside/Newby Bridge, and took the first turning on the right after the YMCA signpost Cunsey, which led us straight there after a few miles. Perfect!
