An inviting, traditional, three-bedroom house, which has been beautifully renovated and is set in the Langdale Valley’s Chapel Stile, right at the heart of the spectacular Lake District.
Make your Lakeland getaway to this handsome, 19th-century, village home for six, set in Chapel Stile. The village has a local pub and store is also close to Ambleside, 4.5 miles away, where you can peruse the interesting shops, dine out and even go to the cinema. In summer, book a carriage down to Lake Windermere, 1 mile from Ambleside and where you can book a cruise. The charming village of Grasmere is just 3 miles from the cottage. Find another great selection of cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants here, as well as the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden. Stroll 0.5 miles from Grasmere to the picturesque lake, which you can walk around and where you can hire rowing boats.
Climb two stone steps up to the cottage and enter to find yourselves in the hall, with space for your outerwear and access to a ground-floor WC. Wander on through into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which will be at the heart of your comfortable stay here. Return from long days out in the Lakes to stoke up the wood burner and relax in front of a film on TV, which has Freesat, or choose a DVD. Discover the bright kitchen area, which has a door on to the garden, features an electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Prepare meals in here then call everyone to the table to dine together. Venture up to the first floor to find a king-size bedroom, with far-reaching, scenic views, and a twin room, together with the family bathroom, which has a bath, with shower above, WC and handbasin. Climb another set of stairs up to the top floor, where the light-filled, king-size master bedroom has a seating area and vaulted ceiling and captures spellbinding vistas. Another WC and handbasin can be found on the second floor.
Make the most of the pretty, cottage garden whenever the sun is shining; dine out on the slate patio here and soak up the views. Neighbours can cross through the garden but it is for the private use of cottage guests only. Parking is usually available in the lane outside the cottage but please note this is not allocated and on a first come first served basis.
