An enchanting, traditional Lakeland cottage for two, sympathetically converted to offer light, inviting accommodation in an enviable position near Derwentwater and Keswick.
Soak up the magnificent scenery and tranquillity of the setting from this lovely stone cottage in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley. There is an abundance of walks from the door, be it a short stroll to Derwentwater or a more strenuous ascent of Walla Crag with its superb views to the west and spectacular sunsets. Walk through woodland and farms to the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle or to Ashness Bridge and Lodore Falls, all within three miles of the door. Why not traverse the ridge from Maiden Moor to Cat Bells and look back at the cottage from across the lake? Follow cycle routes, hire a boat or go shopping and dine out in Keswick, only a mile by footpath.
Step into the attractive home, across the drive from the owners' house, to find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/dining room. This is where the two of you can prepare tasty, home-cooked feasts while taking in the impressive vistas. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. There is also a washer/dryer in the utility room. Set the table and dine together in this bright space or carry breakfast, lunch and dinner to the outside table and chairs on warm days. Return home after exhilarating days out to relax in the sitting room with its beautiful views. Settle on the sofa to watch the flat screen TV or a DVD. Wake up in the superking size bed, which can also be arranged as twins and take in the leafy outlook over a cup of tea. The bathroom at the cottage features a bath with shower above, WC and a recessed handbasin.
You can choose between two stone terraces to take in the sweeping vistas and watch for wildlife, including numerous birds, red squirrels and deer among the trees. There is ample parking available.
