A comfortable, well-furnished and accessible ground-floor apartment in a quiet setting, in the pretty village of Portinscale. With country pubs, marina and restaurants within 400 metres of the property.

Portinscale offers village life with the option of taking a short walk into the market town of Keswick on the footpath from the village and over the suspension bridge (1.5 miles). There is a great selection of independent shops and restaurants. There is a network of lake or mountain walking paths from your door as this area is a haven for walking, cycling and water sports. There are two marinas, again only a short walk from the property, where you can board the launch across to Keswick and around Derwentwater Lake. The Lingholm Estate is just under a mile away and has a fabulous restaurant, some lovely walks and a pretty walled garden. There is an open-air theatre at Mirehouse (3 miles away) which is well worth a visit.

This traditional stone, ground-floor apartment is spacious and homely. As you enter the property, you will find yourself in the porch with useful storage for coats and shoes. Head through into the spacious kitchen which is very well equipped with an electric hob and oven, washing machine, under-counter fridge/freezer, slimline dishwasher and built-in microwave. Off the hallway, you will find a bright master bedroom that has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (can be made up as a twin on request). The bedroom has a TV and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and WC. There is a shower chair in the shower and also a handrail for the toilet. The bedroom has views across the garden and patio. Next door to the bedroom you will find the lounge; this room offers you a great space to enjoy breakfast or an evening meal at the dining table, or you can relax and watch a good film on the TV or read a good book after a day out exploring. There is also a wood burner-effect electric fire, perfect for the cooler evenings and lovely views over the garden.

A ramp is available on request to access the entrance porch and, from there, all rooms and the outside patio are easily accessible. Heading outside, there is a tiered garden with a private section of lawn, and a patio with an electric awning and seating outside to enjoy al fresco dining. There is private parking for one car on the drive outside of the property.

Good location for getting anywhere in the north Lakes. Handy to be on the bus route for the Buttermere circular. Excellent bed, great nights sleep. Nice garden, with a pheasant and rabbits.

This really is a lovely place. The furnishings, curtains and carpets are beautifully thought out colour wise and so comfortable. The garden is so peaceful and we loved watching all the birds. The location is great. We hardly used the car as there are plenty walks from the house. Will definitely be back.
