Situated in a charming courtyard in the heart of the Lake District, this delightful apartment is a wonderful retreat for couples or small families. It’s located within the Aynsome Manor Park, less than a mile from the bustling village of Cartmel, and is surrounded by some great walks and trails. Accommodating four people and up to three beloved canines, this is a delightful hideaway the whole family can enjoy.

The cottage is one of a group of adjoining properties converted from a former mill, that flank a small shared courtyard. Inside, it is cosy, homely and welcoming. Step outside into the shared courtyard or garden to soak up the peace and quiet, and on warmer evenings fire up the BBQ.

Pack a picnic and head to the beach at Grange-over-Sands (3 miles) and stroll along its famous promenade. Foodies will find plenty of great pubs and restaurants to choose from in Cartmel itself, as well as the chance to try its famous sticky toffee pudding. For water sports and some stunning walks around the shore, Lake Windermere is packed with things to do, while the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park (6 miles) is great for a paddle.

Really good location for the southern lakes. Apartment is one of many and is situated on a lodge/static caravan park with a mixture of residents and holiday goers. All outside space is shared and dogs must be on lead, so not super dog friendly but not the end of the world.

Beautifully presented and very spacious. My boyfriend and I stayed at Duck's Haven with our dog Pagan for a week in September 2019. The other residents at Aynsome Manor were lovely and very informative, and the grounds were very well maintained and peaceful. Pagan loved the orchard to run around in and the garden to sit out in. The beds were comforRead moretable and there was a good amount of DVDs and board games to choose from of an evening. Hide

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
