This beautiful holiday home is ideally situated in a tranquil and picturesque village, perfect for exploring the wonders of the Lake District and with easy access to Cartmel Races.

Situated in a charming courtyard in the heart of the Lake District, this delightful apartment is a wonderful retreat for couples or small families. It’s located within the Aynsome Manor Park, less than a mile from the bustling village of Cartmel, and is surrounded by some great walks and trails. Accommodating four people and up to three beloved canines, this is a delightful hideaway the whole family can enjoy.

The cottage is one of a group of adjoining properties converted from a former mill, that flank a small shared courtyard. Inside, it is cosy, homely and welcoming. Entering via a shared hall, you’ll arrive in a spacious open-plan living space. If you’re eating in and fancy doing some cooking, then look no further than the farmhouse-style kitchen which meets all your modern needs. The dining area is a comfortable space to enjoy a snack or a hearty breakfast, while the light and colourful lounge is the perfect spot to put your feet up and enjoy a good film or a chat over a glass of wine. You’ll be drifting off to sleep in no time in the two comforting bedrooms, which are a lovely place to snuggle down. Step outside into the shared courtyard or garden to soak up the peace and quiet, and on warmer evenings fire up the BBQ.

Pack a picnic and head to the beach at Grange-over-Sands (3 miles) and stroll along its famous promenade. Foodies will find plenty of great pubs and restaurants to choose from in Cartmel itself, as well as the chance to try its famous sticky toffee pudding. For water sports and some stunning walks around the shore, Lake Windermere is packed with things to do, while the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park (6 miles) is great for a paddle.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautifully presented and very spacious. My boyfriend and I stayed at Duck's Haven with our dog Pagan for a week in September 2019. The other residents at Aynsome Manor were lovely and very informative, and the grounds were very well maintained and peaceful. Pagan loved the orchard to run around in and the garden to sit out in. A well furnished cottage that is about a mile from Cartmel village, great for getting to the racecourse. Everything you need is here, utensils, electric hob and oven and all plates and cutlery. Easy access to all main routes to the Lakes and other visitor attractions. We had a fabulous time at Ducks Haven Beautiful location and just a short walk to Cartmel. The rest of the Lake District was also very accessible Our dogs loved a run in the orchard The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable beds particularly good We hope to be back next year
