This quirky Lakeland home sits less than half a mile from the edge of Ullswater. Tucked at the bottom of the magnificent Helvellyn range, the village of Glenridding boasts a plethora of places to explore. From your door, enjoy the walking routes with rewarding panoramic views and climb the likes of St Sunday Crag (3 miles) and Catstycam (3 miles). From Glenridding, you can also board an Ullswater Steamer for a day out on the water. Visit the lakeside villages for a wonder around and grab some lunch. The Aira Force waterfall is 3 miles away by road and well worth a visit. If you fancy a lively night or a show, travel 16.5 miles to the Adventure Capital of England, Keswick and book tickets for the Theatre by the Lake.

This beautiful stone built Lakeland cottage sits above Glenridding village and is accessed up a steep narrow drive. Upon entering the property you will feel right at home, get ready to pop the kettle on and relax. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob with an oven and grill, a microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The handy utility has a freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The lounge boasts a wonderful wood burner and is the perfect play to sit and talk about the days adventures, or just enjoy some peace and quiet with a good book. There is also a payphone should you need to make a call. Dinner can be served in the dining room where the table seats four guests. Head upstairs to settle down for the night in one of two lovely bedrooms. The master double boasts views across to Ullswater whilst the twin is decorated in neutral tones. Both bedrooms share the family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Enjoy time spent in the enclosed garden, marvel at the views and fire up the BBQ for a sizzling, al fresco feast. There is off-road parking available.

Our 3rd visit to this charming cottage. Loved every minute again! As long as you can manage the steep driveway up to the cottage I cant see any reason you wouldnt book this place - stunning!

Excellent cottage, super clean with everything you need. Heating was very effective, we were very cosy! The smart TV with Netflix etc was also appreciated. The view is brilliant and shops and pubs very close by. We loved the steep drive up to the cottage (sheep!) but some may find it tricky. A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Perfectly located in Glenridding, fairly central yet away from the crowds, plenty of walks for all abilities from the door. Aira Force close enough to walk to via the Ullswater path. Loved our week and hope to return.

We were very happy staying in Eagle Cottage. Close to nature and just minutes away from the start of beautiful fell walks but only 5 or 10 minutes from a shop with all the basic necessities, so no need to use the car. Perfect for us. The steep garden, quite wild in places, might not be suitable for toddlers, who would have to be constantly supervisRead moreed but I think older children would love it. We look forward to returning! A lovely cottage, reasonably high on a hill with views over the lake. No-one around you and complete peace! Be careful if you have a low slung car, in getting up the drive way to the house. There is a sharp left turn before you get to the house. Everything else was lovely in this cottage and we highly recommend it.
