Very comfortable and clean cottage . Great central location. The kitchen could be better equipped e.g. no saucepan for cooking pasta, inadequate fridge and only a freezer compartment in the fridge.

Lovely place to stay and an ideal location, the cottage was clean and cosy. Parking space a bonus, but a bit tight if you have any of those giant SUV's at the side of you. Would recommend Ecclerigg cottage and we would stay there again.

On our first visit to the Lake District, this place in Ambleside was exactly what we needed. There was only 2 of us. 2 big bedrooms could easily fit 4 and not be overcrowded. Kitch is massive and equipped with all you need. Everything you need is a 5-minute walk to restaurants, supermarkets Pubs, Cafes the lot. Stock Ghyll Force (waterfall) is a 10Read more-minute walk from the cottage. Recommend Shielas Cottage and Doi Intanon Thai Restaurant. Highly recommend this place. Hide

Great little place, clean, tidy, comfortable and situated in a great place a stones throw from the town centre and less than a 10 min walk down to the lake itself. Unable to fault, highly recommended.

Very comfortable house with everything you could possibly need for a holiday. The location makes it easy to stroll into the town. Pubs, restaurants and shops are only a five minute walk away. The parking space makes it easy to bring your luggage in and out. If you do have any mobility issues, I guess the fairly steep stairs would be an issue. We onRead morely used one bedroom. It was super comfortable. Plenty of storage space and a nice, firm, King Size bed. Hide

We had a very enjoyable stay in this well situated cottage. Only a short walk to the centre of Ambleside and a parking space outside the property which is quite rare near the centre of town. Lovely views of the hills from the front of the cottage also. Kitchen was very well equipped and the lounge was spacious and cosy. Lovely hot shower whenever nRead moreeeded and bed comfortable. Also nice to see a decent size TV for a change. We did many walks direct from the property & would consider returning again Hide

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
