1 OF 3 COSY COTTAGES SET ON THE EDGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK. SLEEPS 2 +1

These character cottages are set within the grounds of a working farm, each property is surrounded by open fields and breath taking views of rolling countryside with views of Skiddaw. They are the ideal holiday spot for multigenerational celebrations and get-togethers.

Set within the grounds of a working farm and surrounded by beautiful Cumbrian countryside, this delightful cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway. With the Lake District National Park a short drive away and the stunning sandy beaches of Solway within walking distance, there’s plenty to do, whatever your mood. An additional bed makes it a great choice for small families, and two dogs are also welcome here, meaning nobody needs to be left at home.

This one-bedroom rural retreat is one of three enjoying a peaceful location on the outskirts of Allonby. It has a welcoming feel from the moment you arrive, with many traditional touches including exposed beams, which add to its character. The stone fireplace with gas fire takes centre stage in the cosy lounge, where you can put your feet up after a busy day of sightseeing. The dining table in this room is also perfect for any romantic meals you may fancy rustling up in the contemporary kitchen. The double bedroom is both warm and inviting, making it the ideal place to rest and recharge, before you wake up to those beautiful views. Enjoy some al fresco drinks and dining as you relax in your fully enclosed garden, while the four-legged members of the family explore.

Stretch your legs on Allonby’s sandy beach before enjoying a drink in the local pub, which is 1 mile from the cottage. Cockermouth (10.5 miles) is the birthplace of William Wordsworth and packed with independent shops, restaurants and galleries. Pull on your walking boots or take to two wheels to enjoy one of the many trails that surround the cottage. If you’re feeling adventurous, head deeper into the national park and take on Skiddaw (20 miles) which is a great climb for those looking to take on higher peaks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Cottage was very comfortable and cosy. Only complaint is the low ceiling in the bathroom but all facilities were great. Lovely kitchen. Very cosy gas burner in the front room and fast wifi. Great location for walks, can recommend Manryport and Ennerdale Water. Be aware that to walk to the beach you will have to walk on the road for a little bit.

The location was perfect, quiet, middle of nowhere ideal for hassle free quiet break. Nice walks on the beach and time just to slow down and take in the scenery and chillout. Nice little town to visit is Maryport.

The cottage was an ideal base to explore the northern lakes and only a short walk to the Beach at Allonby. We were lucky in that we had access to the large rear garden as the larger property was empty and this really suited the dog ! The front garden is adequate, however, the view requires some tidying up. Lucky with weather and so all in all a nicRead moree break in a quiet location. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Very short walk into Allonby with a dog friendly cafe and pub. Also a shop and fish and chip shop. Very close to the beach. The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
