18th century farmhouse, set with five acres of shared grounds overlooking the beautiful Esthwaite Valley and Tarn Hows, just 1.5 miles to the attractive village of Hawkshead.

This stunning old farmhouse is situated down a quiet country lane and is set on a hill overlooking the Esthwaite Valley. Close to Tarn Hows, a popular local beauty spot, it is surrounded by beautiful rural scenery. A perfect base for exploring the Lake District, and you can easily spend all day exploring Tarn Hows and Black Crag or Grizedale Forest, which is ideal for mountain biking. The mountains of Langdale are just over the hill. With stunning fell views, this is an idyllic and tranquil location. For shops, pubs and restaurants Hawkshead is a mile away, and Coniston is just a short drive.

On entering this charming 18th century house, you will find yourself in the spacious but snug lounge, where you can snuggle in front of the cosy wood burner. With exposed beams, deep-set windows with garden views, comfortable seating, a wood burner, TV and DVD, this is a perfect room to relax in. Across the hallway you will find the bright and attractive dining room. Ideally situated and with exposed beams, wood burner, and a traditional ambience, the dining room is perfect whether you’re sitting down to a special meal or grabbing a snack. Heading over to the elegant and stylish kitchen, you will find everything you may need including a large range cooker with gas hob and electric oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. There is also a ground-floor WC. Heading upstairs, you will find three lovely and cosy bedrooms, each with traditional exposed beams. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, TV and en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath. There are two delightful twin bedrooms which each have en-suite shower rooms with WC. One of the twin rooms has twin zip-and-link beds which can be made up into a double on request. All bedrooms have their own TVs.

Stepping outside you will find a large garden which is shared with the neighbouring cottages, complete with garden furniture and offering beautiful views across the rolling countryside. There is ample off road parking available.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

An excellent property which is well presented. Location is perfect for your Lake District holiday. Numerous places to eat locally to get good wholesome food. A benifit is that there is good pub within walking distance (0.8 miles).

We spent Christmas 2016 here and it was perfect for our stay. The farmhouse is warm and charming, retaining plenty of rustic features but with contemporary styling, large very comfortable bedrooms (especially the beds!) and new bathrooms ensuite. Whilst it is very cosy, it is spacious enough that we didn't have to live on top of one another. The kiRead moretchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking untensils and we had everything needed for cooking and serving dinners. The open plan kitchen / dining room was great too for us all to cook, chat and eat and we spent a lot of time there! The gardens are lovely and would be great for outdoor cooking / eating during summer months. Good location for walking, but although the 2 nearest pubs are about a mile away, on a winter's evening they were just too far to walk to safely. Good location for visiting local towns and for walks around tarns and lakes; car definitely needed. And finally, it was very clean and Lakeland Hideaways provided good service. Hide

Great cottage for a party of people - each bedroom is en-suite which makes sharing easier. Open plan kitchen and dining room made for sociable meal times. Bedrooms are particularly nice, with lots of room. Stairs are steep but my 80 yr old father managed them ok. Weather was rotten but the cottage was great to spend a day relaxing in. We drove to tRead morehe Outgate Inn to eat in the evening and could recommend there, especially 'Pie Night' on Tuesday! Hide

Lovely farmhouse in a superb position. Plenty of space for 3 or more cars. The inside of the farmhouse is as good as it gets. A lovely kitchen and dining area. The 3 bedrooms are amazing! All ensuite and with TVs. The WiFi broadband is fast and easy to connect to.

This is the umpteenth time we've stayed at Fieldhead Farmhouse and it was a good as it has always been. The space is tremendous and the bedrooms are fabulous. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is to die for. A mid area to Ambleside one way and Hawkshead the other so very convenient for anyone with a car. We will return!
