Pull on your walking boots or hop on your bikes and set off on one of the many trails that surround the cottage. Try out some of the fantastic eateries in the bustling market town of Keswick (3.5 miles) before taking a wander around its independent shops and museums. Challenge yourself with a climb to the top of Skiddaw (8 miles) where the views make the effort worthwhile. Beautiful! The house had a garden for the dog and plenty of space for our space to run around. The beautiful scenery all around kept the inlaws happy and the warm open plan living areas kept me happy. Our son has autism and the space both inside and outside meant he could run around and be safe.

We had a lovely long weekend break with extended family, plenty of room, well equipped and beautiful views. Friendly and caring/responsive owners. Our dog had a great time too! Some lovely shorter walks from the cottage which are great for dog walks - and visits to a lovely dog friendly local pub!

Lovely location and stylish interior. Everything we needed was available in the cottage, but, for me, the highlight of the stay was the proximity to a good art gallery.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
