Wonderful location and fantastically equipped holiday rental. Views from property grounds are the best in the lake district. Ideal location for MTB, hiking and fishing all without using the car.

Everyone mentions the fantastic views, and quite right too, as sitting on the benches in various parts of the well maintained garden is a highlight of the property. A nice quite, spacious and well fitted-out property in a very pleasant location. While the view from the communal garden is amazing, as the property is round the side of the main building, the view from inside (and natural light) are a little limited.

We had a lovely stay and this place is ideally located for the Carl Side route up Skiddaw and easy access to lots of other lakes and highlights. The cottage is well appointed, in particular the kitchen and there was everything we needed. Comfy beds and lots of places to sit and relax after a busy day exploring. This was our second time at Garth Cottage and we stayed for 2 weeks this time with our 6 month baby and the grandparents. Its such a wonderful place in terms of location and style and we felt very comfortable there. There are a couple of little things that need a bit of maintenance. Well be back again in the future.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
