Ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead is a thriving village, offering a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is the home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Close by is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake which also inspired Wordsworth. Coniston, Grizedale Forest, Langdale, Grasmere and Ambleside are all within easy reach, and the busy centres of Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and a plethora of exciting activities, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.


This delightful apartment occupies the first and second floors of a beautiful old cottage. Heading up the external steps leads you to the stable door, then in via the hallway to the charming and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The elegant and comfortable lounge makes a great place to relax, complete with TV/DVD and a traditional wood burner on a slate hearth attractively set in an exposed stone wall. The stylish and attractively designed kitchen has everything you may need including electric hob and oven, fridge, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The dining area is ideally situated to enjoy a home-cooked meal. Heading up to the second floor you will find the cosy and welcoming king size double bedroom set under the beamed, vaulted roof. The bed can be made up as either a double bed or twin beds if requested. The bathroom is complete with shower over the bath and WC.


Stepping outside you will find parking is permitted for one car in the main Hawkshead car park.

Amazing stay at Gooseyfoot, apartment in the heart of Hawkshead with excellent facilities and plenty of information in the cottage about walks in the surrounding areas. We stayed here for our mini-moon the week after getting married and it was perfect for this - special enough for an occasion such as a mini-moon but reasonably priced if you dont waRead morent to spend loads! We enjoyed staying in the centre of the village as it was so close to everything you could need but was nice and peaceful. Hide

Gooseyfoot is a lovely old property which has been beautifully renovated. Very comfortable and cosy and in a great location in the centre of Hawkshead. Great pubs in staggering distance as well as shops and cafes. The perfect location for walks and exploring the Lakes.

Gooseyfoot is a delightful hideaway in the middle of Hawkshead village. Beautifully presented property with everything you require. We stayed for a long weekend in February & we loved its location. It was lovely not to have to use the car at all over the weekend. We found some stunning walks direct from hawkshead & the choice of food & drink in theRead more village was brilliant. We had a great time at the Gooseyfoot. Everyone at Hawkshead was very kind, and the walks to coniston and Tarn Hows were extremely enjoyable. We will definitely recommend this cottage to friends visiting the lake district. 10/10

This cottage was perfectly located in the National Park and made access to various walks easy. The cottage was directly across from the pubs that serve the village which was also handy. Parking was easy as was checkin. The cottage itself had a well equipped kitchen with laundry.

Amazing place to stay! We had a wonderful stay, amazing location close to some lovely shops and pubs and walks right on your doorstep! Lovely clean and romantic, ideally situated for walking or driving to other areas of the lake district, good facilities in the village. Only one problem , watch your head on the low beams ! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this apartment.
