This large detached house is only a short and level stroll from the centre of the charming village of Hawkshead. This impressive house is spacious enough for larger gatherings at any time of the year but is also welcoming and homely for smaller groups. The rear part of the house dates from the 17th century when it was a farmhouse, whilst later additions to the front give the property an elegant appearance. The lounge can be curtained off from the rear TV room, where you can watch TV or use the DVD, if required. Crossing the hallway, you will find the bright and attractive dining room which comfortably seats twelve people, and has a piano and a great selection of books and games. Adjoining the dining area is a cosy, oak-floored snug with seating. Exploring further, you will find the elegant and stylish kitchen is generously equipped with everything you may need, including a large range style electric oven perfect for catering for large numbers, as well as a microwave, toaster and bread maker. The freezer is located in the large boot room behind the kitchen, which is also an ideal storage space for walking gear and suitcases. Beyond that, there is a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and large second fridge. There is also a ground-floor WC and shower room. Heading upstairs, you will find seven cosy bedrooms. There are four doubles, three of which benefit from an en-suite shower and WC, one twin with en-suite shower and WC, and two singles. There is an additional shower room with WC, and a bathroom and WC.

Stepping outside, you will find off-road parking for six cars, and a pretty paved garden with patio and shrubs to the front with outdoor seating, tables and BBQ, making this an ideal place to relax at the end of a fantastic day.

A comfortable, well-equipped house, with lots of space, ideal for our family gathering - 3 different families from different areas of the country, to celebrate a 70th birthday.
