There’s also a breakfast table for a quiet morning coffee or for socialising whilst the meal is being prepared. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large utility room, with two dishwashers, two large fridges, a freezer and a washing machine. In addition, there’s a larder with space to store wine. Lodge was much larger than expected and was great for our large family. Out door activities were within 5 minutes walk and made for a great day out. Food shopping not the best as only local or smaller chain stores available so I would recommend a delivery or take it with you.

A super property for a large gathering. The location is great - just 5 minutes walk from Grizedale Forest centre. The bedrooms and en suites are all of a high standard. The living room and dining room are spacious although the furniture could do with some updating. The kitchen and utility is large and well equipped although a fridge was leaking andRead more some equipment missing. The terrace is lovely - a sun trap in the afternoon - with great views of the forest. Hide

It was a lovely space for our weekend away. The rooms were nice each with an en-suite. It was just a bit cold and the shower in room 4 had a drainage issue. Aside from that I would recommend.

Had a lovely weekend stay here as a big group. Bedrooms and bathrooms high standard, kitchen well equipped and lounge / dining areas comfortable. Have clearly responded to previous issues with brand new appliances (fridges and dishwashers) and paint touched up. The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
