We had a lovely week at heathwaite farm. Despite the cold weather we were kept warm and comfortable. Some of the equipment was a little basic for self catering for a week. Stairs were a little tricky for my elderly mother. But great location, lovely views, would recommend.

A lovely comfy farmhouse cottage, we really enjoyed our stay there. Access via narrow twisty lanes, through 2 gates via sheep, makes for a very rural & peaceful time! Logs provided - a lovely bonus. Beautiful cottage in ideal location. Bit of a steep narrow road to farm but worth the effort! We had lovely weather so walked each day without having to use the car. About 20 mins walk into Coniston & a number of good pubs. Even our nearly teenager had a great time!

This was just idyllic. After an incredibly hairy drive up the hill, a little corner of heaven awaits. Everything you need is there. The views are stunning, the fire is a delight and the local area unbelievably beautiful...

A very cosy cottage, clean and comfortable. The only downside was the narrow lanes to get there.

Cottage is approx 1 mile from the village centre, and up a fairly steep hill, beware! This is a basic cottage but good if you are looking for a cheaper option. The road is very steep and narrow for a wide vehicle to get to the cottage and hard work to walk up to return in the evening, so either a good level of fitness or a small car is useful for this cottage! Lovely views though and peaceful. A good, basic cheaper option.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
