Beautiful location but you have to be fit to make it to the village and back up 2 very steep hills. Lovely cottage that Matt and his wife are going to make even better.

Gorgeous cottage. Atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. Views of the lake and mountain. We lit the fire one eve which was lovely. New owners were lovely. Only just taken over so I suspect they'll be checking reviews to make improvements where needed. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't dirty just needs a spring clean to freshen it up. Good location overlooking lake Coniston however the 15 min walk is up a very steep hill. Car access is a pain by anything bigger than a fiat 500. Our Volvo estate car was a challenge to get in and out. Property in real need of maintenance, renovation and a good clean. Wi-fi hotspot is very weak so pretty useless down stairs. Overall the property waRead mores acceptable but we didnt feel good value for money given the other properties available in the Lake District. Hide

This was a lovely cottage in a wonderful, secluded location, with direct access up onto the Coniston Old Man footpaths. Although it was simply furnished, it was cosy, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The access road is narrow and steep, but this didnt present any difficulties, and we liked being away from the village.

We had a lovely week at heathwaite farm. Despite the cold weather we were kept warm and comfortable. Some of the equipment was a little basic for self catering for a week. Stairs were a little tricky for my elderly mother. But great location, lovely views, would recommend.

A lovely comfy farmhouse cottage, we really enjoyed our stay there. Access via narrow twisty lanes, through 2 gates via sheep, makes for a very rural & peaceful time! Logs provided - a lovely bonus. Beautiful cottage in ideal location. Bit of a steep narrow road to farm but worth the effort! We had lovely weather so walked each day without having to use the car. About 20 mins walk into Coniston & a number of good pubs. Even our nearly teenager had a great time!

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
