Upon entering, guests come to a mid-level snug room with a warming wood burner and comfortable sofas, which create a welcoming space for relaxing. Stairs lead down to the impressive kitchen/diner, which is both spacious and well-equipped with a range oven, keeping the most discerning of cooks busy while the rest of the guests gather for a chat around the table. The first of five bedrooms is to be found just off the kitchen. Back up to the snug where stairs lead up to the second lounge which is an elegant room with doors opening out onto a decked balcony. A second twin leads off from the lounge, while the remaining three bedrooms are on the upper level and accessed by stylish spiral staircases. All are inviting and cosy, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Step outside into the landscaped garden and enjoy some al fresco drinks and dining on the terrace, while the children play happily.
Meander around the shops and cobbled streets of the market town of Ulverston (2 miles) where you’ll also find a good range of pubs. For a taste of lakeside life, head into the national park and hop on a cruise across Lake Windermere (9 miles) before walking up to Claife Heights, which rewards you with fabulous views of the water.
