Heron cottage is a lovely place to stay that just needs a few minor tweaks. It was very close to the village and was very well equipped with everything we needed. The patio door was difficult to open so we found it was easier to take our dog out on her lead . The property was nice and warm which was great for the middle of November.

The cottage was lovely. We received a lovely welcome bag of goodies and a pint of milk in the fridge. We have experienced bad flooding on our journey, so a cup of tea was well needed. The beds were very comfy, nice pillows and duvets. Bathroom was roomy with a good power shower. Good location close to the shop and pubs. On the main road but not noiRead moresy. Hide

Excellent location and a very modern and clean cottage. We enjoyed our stay and the wooden floors were excellent for our boys (2 x choc labs) as they do tend to shed a bit. The 2 minute walk into the village for dinner at night was not too strenuous and the plentiful walks from the door in the daytime were excellent.

The location of this cottage is lovely and close to the village. The garden patio is very small so I would recommend for smaller dogs only.

We arrived at Heron cottage to a lovely welcome from Becky at Hideaways. On entering the cottage there was a very pleasant clean smell about the accommodation, and it was really clean and tidy everywhere. The house itself has an easy layout with through lounge and kitchen off set from this, plenty of room to relax and wind down from the stresses ofRead more life. The furniture including bed, and 3 piece suite are comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of Hawkshead which has remained one of our most favourite places. We also appreciated the welcome gift bag containing milk, special tea, coffee, biscuits and Kendal mint cake that was waiting on our arrival.
