Terraced cottage located in the Kings Yard area of Hawkshead village, a short stroll through pretty, cobbled streets to the local pubs.

This pretty cottage is located in the charming Kings Yard cluster of houses on the edge of the lovely village of Hawkshead. Enjoying views of Latterbarrow, this cosy home is superbly placed just a short level stroll from the centre of the village. This home is perfect for a family who want to be able to leave the car and explore the countryside by foot. Ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead offers a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops. Esthwaite Water, Tarn Hows, Coniston, Grizedale Forest, Langdale, Grasmere and Ambleside are all within easy reach, and the busy centres of Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away.

On entering this charming property, you will find yourself in the bright and attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a lovely beam-effect ceiling and a coal effect electric fire with timber mantle and surround. The welcoming lounge is perfect for relaxing in after a day’s walking and has a TV, DVD and CD. Moving into the stylish kitchen, which can be separated from the main living area by a curtained doorway, you will find everything you might need including an electric oven, microwave, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The traditional dining area is ideally situated and is perfect whether you’re grabbing a light snack or sitting down to a special meal. Going upstairs, you will find two pretty bedrooms. The cosy master bedroom offers a double bed, and the spacious twin bedroom features zip-and-link beds, which can be made up into a king-size bed upon request. There is also a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping outside, you will find an enclosed patio area at the front of the property which is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. There is parking available for one car to the rear of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

I have 2 jack russell they loved the cottage ideal back yard garden for them the cottage interior very nice and modern clean and spacious would definitely recommend .

Lovely cottage great in town location. Newly refurbished it seems. Bit tricky to get in and out of village - narrow roads takes time. Cottage in village support team were excellent/helpful easy to locate. Would come back and recommended! Thank you.

Heron cottage is a lovely place to stay that just needs a few minor tweaks. It was very close to the village and was very well equipped with everything we needed. The patio door was difficult to open so we found it was easier to take our dog out on her lead . The property was nice and warm which was great for the middle of November.

Heron cottage was our first stay in Hawkshead and we were not dissapointed.The cottage was very well located in Hawkshead itself so able to take advantage of good pubs and shops without using car. The cottage was well provided for and most of all nice and warm at all times.We had typical March Lakeland weather a few days of getting very wet,day of Read moresnow and by the end lovely sunshine. Appreciated warmth after getting wet (so did the dogs).Overall a comfy warm nicely located cottage. Hide

We arrived at Heron cottage to a lovely welcome from Becky at Hideaways. On entering the cottage there was a very pleasant clean smell about the accommodation, and it was really clean and tidy everywhere. The house itself has an easy layout with through lounge and kitchen off set from this, plenty of room to relax and wind down from the stresses ofRead more life. The furniture including bed, and 3 piece suite are comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of Hawkshead which has remained one of our most favourite places. We also appreciated the welcome gift bag containing milk,special tea, coffee, biscuits and Kendal mint cake that was waiting on our arrival.
