This charming terraced cottage is situated in the popular Kings Yard area of Hawkshead village and offers a superb base for couples or small families holidaying with two canine companions. Located within walking distance of shops, pubs and a restaurant, it can comfortably sleep four people across two bedrooms. With scenic walks on the doorstep and major attractions such as Lake Windermere within a few miles, there’s something here for everyone.

Traditional features merge with contemporary design touches to create a real home-from-home for your holiday. The open-plan living area is at the heart of things, with comfortable sofas for curling up on after a day of sightseeing while the hounds enjoy a snooze in front of the coal-effect electric fire. The dining area and shaker-style kitchen are both bright and airy and equipped with all you might need if you’re in the mood to cook. Upstairs, guests waking up in the lovely master bedroom will be treated to spectacular views across to Claife Heights, while the cosy twin room has an inviting and snuggly feel. The enclosed patio area to the front of the property offers some safe outdoor space for the canines, while you all sit back with a drink and some nibbles.

Meander around the shops in Hawkshead, before stopping off at the Beatrix Potter Gallery, where you can view some of her early illustrations. Lake Windermere (5 miles) and Coniston Water (5 miles) both offer cycle routes, hikes and boat trips, as well as the opportunity to try various water sports. Explore the mock-Gothic towers and turrets of Wray Castle (3 miles) which overlooks Windermere. For those looking for a more challenging hike, head for the rugged and majestic Langdales, 8.5 miles away.

The cottage was very nice and our stay there was very relaxing. Its a shame that the surrounding area doesn't have any designated places for a dog to be off lead. The village was welcoming and offered great places to eat and drink. Even though we had to drive to everywhere the outstanding beauty was stunning.

Great location for a walking holiday with several walks from the doorstep. Local Coop for general groceries and a good Deli, The Honeypot, selling lots of lovely local products. Some good pubs serving food, best to book in advance for evening meals. The Sun Inn is a friendly place and the Chippy next door serves fish & chips direct to your pub tablRead moree. Hide

Great location and well equipped cottage. However if staying with a dog there is no where to let them out on their own you will need to take them out.
