With the tranquil water as a backdrop, cast off your shoes and take in the views of this glorious rural location, being within walking distance of Hawkshead, this cottage sits in a perfect position.

Windermere, just a short drive from the property is a great place to enjoy browsing the shops and perhaps stocking up on picnic supplies before hiring a boat on the water or hop on board one of the leisure cruises which run up and down Windermere at a relaxing pace. Coniston, only a short drive away is known for its rich history and the interesting Ruskin Museum which takes visitors on a journey through the village’s past. A little closer to your retreat you can enjoy family attractions or outdoor pursuits at the famous home of Beatrix Potter, or at the forest at Grizedale, which makes the location entertaining for couples and families alike.

This beautifully presented, contemporary, 1930s property is approached up a private access drive with its own parking. Around to the front door you enter the porch with a bench and place to leave coats and muddy boots. The porch leads into the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are found in a separate utility room, perfect for outdoor gear after cycling or walking in the Fells. The lounge area has a sofa and chairs, a wood burner, and a Smart TV , perfect for relaxing at any time of the year. Walk through into the stunning sun room with its panoramic views across Esthwaite water. The feature wall length windows make the most of the sunlight whatever the time of year and provides a warm and light space, you can recline on the cosy sofa, read, draw or soak up the views while dining together. The master bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request) and has an en-suite shower room and WC, and the second bedroom is a double. Completing the accommodation is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside the property is a large elevated terrace, with garden furniture and steps down into a large enclosed garden with panoramic views over Esthwaite Water. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A really lovely cottage with the most beautiful views over Esthwaite water. This charming cottage is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and was spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back.

The views could not be improved upon. Sitting on a very comfortable sofa or out on the patio overlooking the lovely garden with a book &/or binnoculars (provided by the owner) watching wildlife was so relaxing. In the evening just take a short walk (10 minutes max) to Hawkshead for dinner & drinks, or eat in and take advantage of the large TV and NRead moreetflix. Anyone with a dog should appreciate the enclosed garden & walks from the door (Grizedale Forest & Esthwaite Water) without using the car. Hide

Ideal location just being a ten minute walk to beautiful hawkshead. ..and so many sights to see within 5 miles or so whether walking, taking local buses or if your lazy the car The cottage was brilliant with superb views to the lake and beyond
