Enjoying incredible views over Esthwaite Water at the end of a private driveway, this detached two-bedroom cottage is ideal for families and friends looking to savour a tranquil escape. Ditch boots and coats in the hall and walk through the house to acquaint yourself. For meals at home, the farmhouse kitchen has everything you could need, whilst a choice of indoor and outdoor seating allows you to make the most of the seasons. Particularly lovely on sunny days, the gorgeous sunroom has feature wall-length windows that show off the elevated terrace and picture-postcard surrounds in all their glory. We had a wonderful week, the cottage is well equipped, we slept well on comfortable beds and spent the days just looking at those fantastic views and the different birds, rabbits and squirrels that visited the garden. A lovely cottage with such a nice homely feel, in a beautiful location with amazing views. You wouldnt find better too easily. For our little cavapoochon family member it was a dream. Lots for her to explore and no chance to go beyond the boundary. Perfect to give us all peace of mind to relax.

A beautiful cottage in the stunning Lake District. Great location, the cute little town of Hawkeshead is just down the road and good for essentials. Masses of walks and picnic spots in the surrounding area (thanks to the owners for detailed local information which was left in the cottage - we crossed everything off the list!) and the famous Lake WiRead morendermere within easy reach. The best holiday rental I have stayed in. Lovely place, lovely views. Wrap around garden the kids loved and the bird feeding was great. Beds are very comfy and it is so well equipped it was home from home. The wood burner was great to relax by on the evening on the lovely sofa. A great property in a fantastic location. The property had all the facilities we needed and really did feel like a home from home. The views from the property were breathtaking. Very nice cottage equipped and maintained to a good level. Garden well maintained and good for dogs to explore unsupervised. Hawkshead is a short walk away. Access to footpaths and walks very convenient. Wray castle grounds / views / Windermere shore is my new happy place.

Great location with a short walk to Hawkshead, but very quietly located.. The cottage is very well equipped in its large kitchen. Fabulous location and great base to explore the Lakes. Watching the birds in the garden was a highlight every morning. Our two dogs enjoyed running around the garden too. Would definitely recommend this property and location.

The location of High Cross is ideal for a quiet and idyllic break in the Lake District. You cannot beat the views! Well located cottage within a 5 minute drive of Hawkshead and 20 minutes from Ambleside. This peaceful spot provides beautiful views of Esthwaite and you can walk out from the house to the lake shore. Excellent location, just a 20 minute walk on a track through fields to Hawkshead. Views amazing, didnt want to leave the conservatory! Watching the bird life was most entertaining, cant believe how much food they went through! Extremely well equipped and comfortable. Already booked to go back, cant wait . . .

The cottage is bright, spacious , well equipped and very comfortable. We particularly loved the sun room, with its big windows and comfy sofa the perfect place to be to unwind and relax. The garden was well kept and ideal for our dog. We loved watching all the birds that came to feed. We would highly recommend this cottage, perfect.

We have stayed in Hawkshead many times as it is our favourite quiet haven of the lakes and we will continue to do so . This bungalow had the most spectacular views I have ever had the privilege to enjoy and the photos do not do them justice. It was hard to move from the comfy sofa in the sunroom watching the ever changing colours of the lake and skRead morey and also the birds at the bird table. Bed very comfy and huge . High Cross is lovely bungalow with fantastic views over Esthwaite Water. It is a short walk from Hawkshead and there are loads of walks nearby if you do not want to go far. Plenty of cafes & pubs available in the village as well as a nice deli, post office, Co Op and pharmacy. Perfect location, very cosy and well equipped couldnt ask for anything better. Only slight worry was that some of the fences in the garden were very short so if your dog is a jumper you will have to keep an eye on it.
