One of several apartments set within a large Victorian house, this pretty retreat is a fantastic base for keen walkers, climbers and nature lovers exploring the heart of the Lake District. Situated in an idyllic village, the apartment is perfect for families and friends to discover the area’s bustling market towns, stunning lakes and magnificent fells.

Set in the eaves of the house, and featuring low, sloping ceilings, this charming second-floor apartment is accessed via two flights of stairs including a steep cottage-style staircase. The accommodation features a relaxing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with stunning views from the windows. With a Smart TV and electric fire, the lounge is an ideal space to snuggle up and unwind. The central dining table provides plenty of space for enjoying a favourite family meal which you can rustle up in the fully equipped kitchen. Exploring further, the apartment has a handy bathroom and four cosy bedrooms: two doubles and two singles. Heading outside, a shared garden to the front of the house offers fabulous views across the fells surrounding Borrowdale, and makes a lovely spot for a morning coffee as you get ready to explore.

The cheery village of Rosthwaite has a welcoming pub and delightful tearooms and is ideal for discovering Borrowdale. The bustling town of Keswick (6.5 miles) is a popular spot for water sports, and is home to the Puzzling Place, Alhambra Cinema, Derwent Pencil Museum and the Theatre by the Lake on the northern bank of Derwentwater. Also nearby are the Bowder Stone, Honister Slate Mine, Galleny Force Waterfall, Dale Head and Glaramara (all within 3.5 miles).
