The kitchen is to the rear of this room and is equipped with all you might need to rustle up a romantic meal for you both, which can be enjoyed at the dining table, which seats two. The peaceful bedroom, a twin, is simple in its design and will aid a restful night’s sleep. Revel in the seclusion and tranquillity of your surroundings in the beautiful garden, which is mainly set to lawn.

Follow the accessible circular walk at Tarn Hows (1 mile), which passes through beautiful countryside and takes in mountain views. Do some shopping and have a bite to eat in one of the pubs in Hawkshead (1.5 miles) and stop off at the Beatrix Potter Gallery. A lovely little flat, with ample room for the two of us. The welcome pack was much appreciated as was the cleaning pack of dishcloths, washing up liquid etc. We both enjoy walking so the hike to the bus stops ( if needed) weren't an issue for us. The bus service to other areas is good and allowed us to leave the car at the flat all week. Hawkshead Read moreis a beautiful village, plenty of good pubs and an amazing chippy!! Comfortable property with lovely views. Single track road for access not easy for a large car. About a mile from Hawkshead with easy parking and good amenities.

This property fell short on what we were expecting for 520 a week. Upon entering there was a not very fresh smell and the mat in the kitchen was very dirty. A horsehair type carpet square in the bathroom for a mat did not create a good impression. Kitchen units need updating and no bucket or mop is provided to clean the kitchen and bathroom floors.Read more There were several flies upon arrival and we were constantly plagued by them for the duration of the stay. Superb setting, away from the crowds, but easy drive to Hawkshead and Coniston for pubs and cafes. Lovely walk to Tarn Howes for the relatively fit without having to use the car. This is a wonderful base for seeing the Lake District and gives you that proper middle of nowhere feel but being just a short drive from Ambleside if you need anything. My biggest worry booking the cottage was the lack of picture of the bathroom in case it was tiny - for anyone else worried it is a good size and nice! Had a great time here.

This cottage is good for a couple looking for peace and quiet and approx 1.5 miles from Hawkhurst. The views were charming and the accommodation large enough to be comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom was more than adequate with plenty of hot water. Beds and lounge comfortable too.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
