Take the external stone steps and head into the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Boasting warm tones, period features, cosy furnishings and handy mod-cons, all generations will quickly settle in and relax. Particularly popular amongst foodies, you will love the well-equipped kitchen area, equipped with all sorts of accoutrements and a stylish AGA. Separated over different levels, the lower ground floor of this cottage features a handy utility area (great for washing off those muddy clothes) and a shower room, while on the first floor are the bedrooms and another bathroom.

With so much on offer in the town and within walking distance, you can easily ditch the car and make use of the local attractions. You can even walk the 1 mile to the North Fen National Nature Reserve at the head of the stunning Esthwaite Water. That said, the opportunities are endless, and you can also drive the 4 miles to Coniston with its popular lake and array of shops or the 4 miles to Mitchell Wyke Ferry for a cruise over Windermere. Elsewhere, why not relive childhood tales at the National Trust-run Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter (2.5 miles), or follow the many trails of Grizedale Forest (3 miles)?

Comfortable and a perfect location: 30 seconds from the village centre yet off the beaten track; turn left out of the cottage and one may walk straight into Grizedale forest or other routes over the hills. Awesome cottage right in the heart of Hawkshead up a little street under an archway from the little squares and multiple pubs / cafes - so still quiet. Very cosy. Small but perfectly formed. The cottage was wonderfully homely and comfortable. The drying room downstairs is brilliant for wet boots, dogs and bikes. Fabulous cottage & kitted out to a high standard, very comfortable. Range fire makes it very cosy. The downstairs utility room is really useful on return from walks with muddy boots, wet coats & dog. The cottage is delightful, comfy and cosy, the squeaky floorboards just add to the character. We often avoid 'dog friendly' places as we dont have a dog but Jasmine cottage was spotless and no whiff of previous dogs! The utility was great for entering in muddy walking boots as we loved walking straight from the cottage. Lovely and well located cottage. It has been sympathetically refurbed to keep with the grade 2 listed status and the cottage was really warm and welcoming. The internal furnishing and finish was very good and the lower utility area was really practical for hanging up and drying clothes after a walk. We would love to return again.

What an adventure - arrived by 6 pm on Friday night power off at 8pm until 5pm on Sunday. To keep warm we had to buy 5 bags of logs 3 of coal and I of kindling. No hot water , only heat from fire had to search for some candles and found a few tea light. Lovely well positioned cottage at the heart of Hawkshead. The downstairs drying room with the under floor heating was lovely when coming in after a day walking or with a wet dog. The roll top bath felt luxurious as did the soft white bed linen on the beds Certainly would recommend the cottage.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Very well equipped. Unfortunately we had very wet weather - and made full use of the downstairs basement to dry our boots and jackets. Perfect location! A cosy cottage in a beautiful village. Lots of great walks and water sports nearby. Good facilities including coffee shops just unfortunate only one pub was able to serve food in the evenings, luckily we bought plenty with us and the Aga was great for cooking on. We spent 2 nights at Jasmine Cottage and it was just fantastic! There was everything you could have needed and it was in a good central location so popping down to the shops and out to the lakes was so quick and easy. Great place for a getaway with friends and had everything you'd need for your pet to come too. We would definitely come back.

Lovely traditional cottage but with all mod cons needed for a fantastic stay. Great location, in the heart of the town, yet still quiet and with beautiful walks possible literally from the front door. Parking is paid for and we left the car alone for 2 days and walked from the cottage to the lovely Grizedale forest and the stunning Tarn Hows. Charming traditional cottage with wooden floors throughout. Bedrooms very cosy indeed. Large tiled basement area was very useful for entering after a wet and muddy walk, especially with a wet and muddy dog!

This is a lovely, well equipped cottage with nice period details, such as, fireplaces and wooden beams. It is in a very convenient location close to the centre of Hawkshead. There are several lovely pubs within 5 mins walk and you can do walks straight from the cottage.

Jasmine Cottage is wonderful - beautifully situated in the picturesque village of Hawkshead and fully equipped for a great holiday.
