Beautiful, eco-friendly, detached property in a stunning rural location near Hawkshead, beautifully finished by skilled local craftsmen.

This beautiful detached cottage is set in a quiet rural location close to Tarn Hows and enjoys lovely views across the Esthwaite Valley. Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District, is just two miles away. A thriving village situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead offers a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is home to the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Close by is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake which inspired William Wordsworth. Ambleside, Coniston, Grizedale and Grasmere are within easy reach, and Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On entering this gorgeous cottage, the entrance hall leads into the spacious and light lounge, which can be divided, using the French doors, into two snug rooms if desired. The entrance lounge is traditional and welcoming, with exposed beams, a charming window seat and a wood burner set in a stone fireplace. Going through the French doors and down a couple of steps you will find the second part of the lounge, which is airy and relaxed, and offers TV, DVD and Wi-Fi, which then leads out onto the patio. Exploring the ground floor further, you will find the elegant and stylish kitchen, which is equipped with everything you might need including gas oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The washing machine and dryer are in the utility room as well as a drying cabinet for coats and boots. From the kitchen you can access the bright and airy dining room, which, with its delightful views and old world atmosphere, is ideal for enjoying a special meal. The dining room also has a TV and access to the garden. Heading upstairs you will find three comfy bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a TV and an en-suite shower room with WC. There is also a comfortable double bedroom and a cosy twin both with TVs. The bathroom is complete with a shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping outside, you will find a pretty, enclosed garden with an attractive lawn area and large patio – great for al fresco dining and relaxing at the end of a great day. There is off-road parking for two cars and bike storage in the  garage.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We enjoyed a weeks stay at this lovely cozy cottage which was a perfect base for the daily family walks we shared with our children and springer spaniel Jax! Plenty of nice pubs to eat out at and a daily delivery from the milkman / perfect. Would definitely return to the lakes with our family to continue sharing special times together -10/10
